Muslim Group Seek Withdrawal Of N100 Printed Under GEJ Because Of This. by GistRealm: 5:00am On Apr 18, 2018 |
Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has asked the FG to withdraw from circulation, the N100 notes printed during the administration of former Pres. Jonathan. In a statement by Ishaq Akintola, its director, the group alleged that the N100 notes of Jonathan government were inferior and had no Arabic Ajami inscriptions. Akintola claimed that the removal of the inscription was a form of “ethnic cleansing” aimed at discouraging the learning and use of Arabic language in Nigeria. Ajami refers to Arabic alphabets used for writing African languages, especially those of Hausa and Swahili. It is considered an Arabic-derived African writing system. Since African languages involve phonetic sounds and systems different from the Arabic language, there have often been adaptations of the Arabic script to transcribe them. MURIC wondered why Ajami was removed from some notes with the assumption of office by a Christian president. “It was not the first time this would happen. . Arabic inscriptions which have always been on Nigerian currency since independence were unceremoniously removed in 2005 from N5, N10, N20 and N50 denominations during the reign of Olusegun Obasanjo,” the statement read. “But Nigerians need to know that this move was calculated to hurt the Muslim population and may end up as a disservice to the nation. . . The average northerner cannot read any other script except in Arabic Ajami and anyone who wants to communicate with him effectively must use the Ajami, not even writings in Hausa language can help in this matter. Millions of northerners have therefore been marginalised by removing the Arabic Ajami. Currencies worldwide are designed to suit each nation’s culture and history. Incidentally, Nigeria is a multireligious entity. . In this case, therefore, our cultural and religious homogeneity should be the criteria, particularly when designing our banknotes, our stamps, etc. We are all taxpayers and to that extent we all deserve representation.” https://www.gistrealm.com/muslim-group-seek-withdrawal-of-n100-printed-under-gej-because-it-has-no-arabic-inscription/ Cc lalasticlala mynd44 Dominique

They have started again, that was how Boko Haram started. If they want Arabic currency let them travel to the Middle East and leave Nigeria out of it. This Ishaq Akintola is a huge attention seeker and he appears as an islamic extremist in the South-West. English is our official language and we have three major languages; Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, which are all inscribed on the note. We don't need Arabic on our currency, Nigeria is not a caliphate. 21 Likes 1 Share |

This is the main reason why this govt refuse to print 100naira note up till date. What they remember now, Buharia notice it since day one in office and the effect to Nigerians is scarcity of 100naira note in Nigeria. 7 Likes |

Did we notice that under Buhari's regime, there has been no single new 100 naira note in circulation? The witch cried at night, the child died in the morning. Who did not know that the midnight cry of the witch killed the child?? 4 Likes 1 Share |

MURIC, the Islamic arm of APC government trying so hard to destroy the religious harmony in the country. Election is around the corner and they have started to play the same divisive role they played in 2015 for the APC. 4 Likes 1 Share |

GistRealm: Mr. Akintola is right, We Are All Taxpayers And To That Extent We All Deserve Representation. Billions of Christians in Nigeria do pay tax and as such needs representation, therefore "A sign of Cross or Jesus is Lord" should be written on all naira notes. Let us not forget that the "Star of David" is the Jewish symbol and we have Millions of Jews in Nigeria that needs govt representation therefore the "Star of David" should be printed on every naira notes. We also have traditional worshippers so the faces of Sango, Amadioha or Ulasi should be on our naira notes, this will make them feel represented as well after all, Nigeria is a multi religious country and every taxpayer need representation! 8 Likes |

The scarcity of N100 note is a deliberate attempt by buhari's destructive govt to face out the note for a new note with Arabic inscription as sign of Islamic conquest over Nigeria! Remember what buhari himself said with his own mouth in Kaduna 2001: I will strive within me to support the implementation of Sharia throughout Nigeria. They did it by inserting Islamic logo with Arabic inscriptions on Nigerian Army emblem. Next will be the Naira notes. Buhari is working to fulfill his pledge! 1 Like |

Will addition of Arabic language to 100 naira make it equal to 1 dollar? Or will it make fuel price return to 85 naira per litre as PDP handed it over to APR and buhari, or return the economy to where they received it from Jonathan, If not, die the case immediately. 1 Like |
