All the security personnel on duty should be sack asap

That would not be fair... security is tasked with preventing legislators from coming under harm from external sources (robbers, terrorists, etc),
but not to stop senators and their aides from misbehaving among each other. Those members have some sort of immunity unless they commit felonies and treason while in the building or on their way to/from. In the same way security don't step in to arrest them when there's a fight/slap, etc. same way they don't step in to stop somebody from carrying off the mace. Those are internal matters.

Unfortunately, security will bear the full brunt of this.

Did you ever imagine what would happen yesterday he any of those potbelly senator attempts to stop those thugs yesterday. Or you are telling this can happen in the US or other saner clime

Well, as you know, killing is a felony (for which they can step in), and depending on the beating could be a misdemeanor. Remember all the fights that have happened in those chambers at federal and state level? See

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZzYgrhTAOs
and related videos for examples? Notice how even the orderly is not really empowered to interfere?
Same thing happens all over the world, and youtube is full of such fights and other such misdemeanors.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legislative_violence#United_States also contains amusing anecdotes.
And from the UK section on that page, note: "In the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, the government and the opposition are separated by red lines drawn on the carpet. The red lines in front of the two sets of benches are two sword-lengths apart[72] (or a little more than two sword-lengths apart);[73] a Member is traditionally not allowed to cross the line during debates, supposedly because the Member might then be able to attack an individual on the opposite side. These procedures were made because the Members were allowed to carry weapons into the House in its founding days.[1]"

Of course, who can forget the infamous stabbing of Julius Caesar in the Senate? In the end, "Mark Antony summoned the senate and managed to work out a compromise in which the assassins would not be punished for their acts, but all of Caesar's appointments would remain valid." Now this is an extreme case, but it goes to show that these things are part and parcel of legislatures. grin

It's actually important to Democracy that the members are able to fight and beat each other (with and without the aid of aides) without hindrance from security agents (who are technically under the executive branch) because of separation and balance of powers. If, after the fact, there has been a felony (murder for instance), the house votes to impeach/censure, stripping said member, who can then be prosecuted as an ordinary citizen.

Sadly for those aides, they are not elected members to the Senate, so they will face the full wrath of the law, unlike the Senator who instigated the whole thing.

yes a fight between them is normal, if he has snatched the Mace himself or did it with his colleagues it would have been normal but bringing outsider to the house to cause chaos, mehn I don't buy that

Big shame to all the security agencies there when the mace was carted away without any resistance in broad day light

Approximately 109 policemen attached to each senator, civil defence and DSS operatives that were on ground and the NASS security guards on duty should all be sacked!
