"Indeed, he had been discharged very nearly a hour prior," Gideon Ayodele revealed to PREMIUM TIMES by phone soon after 11:00 a.m. Monday.

Mr Melaye, who speaks to Kogi West Senatorial District, was captured by the Nigerian Immigration Service at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Monday morning.

He said he was headed to Morocco on an official task supported by the Nigerian government when he was held by security.
