Welcome to the 21st century, where worth is placed on like buttons and heart emoticons. Where validation comes from a number of followers and online admirers that do not know the most basic things about us.
Although, the age of social media comes with a lot of advantages for women, such as giving them a platform to voice out their thoughts, access to information that has changed their perspectives on things as well as a place to simply be.
But like everything else in life, these advantages are accompanied by disadvantages. The high emphasis of self-worth on likes and followers have become a leading problem to the self-esteem of many women.

Most girl's self-esteem revolves around "likes" and number of "followers".



If a pix doesn't get plenty "likes", they begin to fidget and convulse.Some go as far as buying "likes".

Spot on, that's usually the only thing they have going for them, I notice those girls get intimidated by girls known for success.

What is with this sudden obsession about women on NL.

Is it only women on SM that look for validation through likes,etc. What about men that post attention seeking pics?
