I currently have a 08 outlander with 150k on it and the oil used is Visco 2000.

What's your experience using visco 2000?

This is my first vehicle and the owner serviced using Visco 2000 which is believe is a 20W50 oil. The nails if the vehicle states using a 5W20 or 10W30 depending on the weather condition.

I've been reading about how thick the 20W50 is and how they cause sludge in the engine of vehicles.

I would really love to switch back to the recommended oil when doint the next servicing... BTW, vehicle is just 2 weeks old and the oil was recently change by the previous owner.

I did a direct switch - no intermediate oil viscosity - straight from 20W 50 to 5W 30.

Your car model is new. I think you would be better off with a 5W30 oil.

I am thinking of changing to sae 5w40 or 5w30.
Been using using fort 20w50 for 1yr plus and am sure the former user used 20w50 too for only God knows when

I own a 1999 toyota camry since 2011 with 110k miles in odometer and i have been using mobil 20w50 mineral engine oil untile date 2020 with 187k miles on it and i do change oil every 3000k miles with out any problem, the recommended engine oil is 5w30 which is percially unavelable in my hode 9ja exept the highly priced synthetic ones which is on durex, so with my understanding is 5w30 has fuel economy and engine ware on startup and 100c for the low vascosity becos of less drag oil flow, the fact is if u use 5w30 if avaliable and burn oil u have step up to 10w, 15w or 20w = 30, 40, or 50, my issue is finance becos no mineral 5w30 around, but nothing do my engine after 9 years of dayly usage

Bros continue using your conventional oil 20w50 but dont waste your money to switch.

This topic is interesting, pls I just got my first Honda, a Honda Crv 2008, which oil make should I go for..... I have always thought any oil goes, Mobil, Forte oil not minding the type... It's actually a Naija used car... Want to handle it with care and love.. I need to give it all attention... What do u guys advice me to do first since I haven't driven it yet, am out of town from lagos, I thought of doing 1. full engine servicing 2. re wiring cuzz the fan was on bypass, 3. full diagnose.
Pls any other information? I need to know the type of oil recommended for this Honda Crv 2007 - 2011 model... Pls Help
