That is the main reason why Ikorodu male citizens are so lazy and their ladies remain in their parents, even after having children. The Oro festival has limited them to Ikorodu environs and to them they enjoy it so much. Why Ikorodu is still vibrant today is because the visitors have contributed significantly to the development of that area.

So Oro of one day is the cause of all the problems in Ikorodu? How does that make sense to you?
Don't blame lack of infrastructure from Government blame Oro that comes out only one day in a year

Prove that people are killed

You should really stop your lies

By telling women to be indoors and threatening anyone who comes outside. What are the consequences? And will it even be announced especially when we've staunch supporters like you?

The tradition is archaic and nonsensical!

OlaoChi:
that is the purpose. Oro is used to fight insecurity and cleanse the land

But Oro has been happening since na. What insecurity did it solve? Cleanse the land?

grin grin grin

women cannot handle Oro. It is not compatible with the biology of women

Coming here to act as if you care about women or as if some women are being harmed .

Democracy is archaic doesn't mean we should all throw it out the window...rather people tend to promote it despite its many flaws.

So that something is old doesnt make it bad.

We have a police set up by the federal government. Why haven't they dealt with the insecurities? Don't blame people who you pay tax to and vote for blame Oro. You are jst being silly

Even when people of the opposite sex are included? Even when emergencies are bound to occur? In a 24-hour city? And it involves killing of people?

Areafada2, maka why? lipsrsealed

Mr G. we just instinctively demonise any form of African culture. They are not killing anybody. Oro has similar versions in most cultures across 9ja.

If not because Ikorodu has grown to become a very important Lagos suburb, with many priced out of expensive parts of Lagos living there, nobody would would bat an eyelid.

If festivals/rituals that included human sacrifices centuries ago, dogs, goats, cow and others are now used.

it is not so. The intricate workings of Oro is such that only men can handle it, so only men are initiated

And since generally non initiates are not allowed to see Oro, women who cannot be initiated are not allowed
okay thanks
