NEWS DIGEST – Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai
has reiterated that the three Senators from his state are
cursed despite public condemnation that followed his earlier
statements.

El-Rufai had last Friday said the three senators: Shehu Sani
(Kaduna Central), Suleiman Hunkuyi (Kaduna North) and
Danjuma Laah (Southern Kaduna) were “useless’, accusing
them of hindering a $350m loan request by the Kaduna
State Government.

The three Senators had stood against the World bank loan
at the National Assembly
In a post on Facebook , El-Rufai quoted verses of the Holy
Quran and said:

” FRIDAY REMINDER: To the Cursed Kaduna Senators, the
Enemies of the people of Kaduna State and their co-
travelers
– the Words of Allah: – Surah Al-Baqarah (2:9-12)
2:9 “They [think to] deceive Allah and those who believe, but
they deceive not except themselves and perceive [it] not.
2:10 “In their hearts is disease (of doubt, hypocrisy,
arrogance and disbelief), so Allah has increased their
disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they
[habitually] used to lie.
2:11 “And when it is said to them, “Do not cause corruption
on the earth,” they say, “We are but reformers.
2:12 “Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but
they perceive (it) not.””

News Digest recalls that Senator Shehu Sani had written a
letter to the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Kaduna
asking that Nasir El-Rufai be checked for mental issues.
Sultan of Sokoto had called for caution in the way politicians
address each other after the first outburst of Governor El-
Rufai.
