Fellow Nigerians, it's exactly 10 months to next year's Presidential elections. Political jobbers/schemers had started campaigning for their principal long before he declared interest in seeking re-election. It isn't debatable that the government who rode to power on the back of change have performed abysmally and should deservedly be given the boot. From insecurity to corruption, the government at the centre have failed. In fact what the opposition then vehemently criticized the GEJ government for is now their bread and tea. In case you've forgotten, let me remind you of the Babachir Lawal grass cutting scam, Maina gate, Abba Kyari Mtn bribe, NNPC & Baru Scandal and most recently the approval for the purchase of fighter jets at ridiculously inflated rates. Fulani heardsmen, a sister terrorist group to Boko haram are on rampage, killing, maiming, burning houses in some parts of Benue and the North central. Boko haram is still laying siege to the North East, recent bombings in Mubi, Madagali, Maiduguri are testimonies to these. Inflation and unemployment are going on unabated. For a President that reads about the security situation of the country on newspapers like an ordinary citizen tell me why he shouldn't be made an ordinary citizen next year. Why should a President that has reneged on his promises deserve a second term?
Yes, Nigerians voted out an incumbent President in 2015. Can they repeat the feat in 2019? Yes but...
The situations surrounding last general elections are not exactly the same, there seem to be very little unison in ousting the incumbent. There's little talk of coalition and even talks of major defections are scarce. The political bigwigs who stood against GEJ seem comfortable with the pathetic performance of the President.
The onus now is on the electorates to form a united front to wrest power from the APC. PMB won't go down without a fight, already his very vocal critics have been haunted so they succumb and join the queue of his loyal zombies. Expect more incarcerations in the build up to next year's general election. This is the price well meaning Nigerians will pay
In 2015 we had a leader who allowed the wishes of the electorates to prevail. In 2018 we have a Pharaoh who will whip electorates to do his wish. If PMB stays in power beyond 2019( God forbid), there could be a complete annihilation of Benue, what will be the fallout of this?
A vote for PMB is a vote for corruption, unabated killings, recession, and everything bad.
The challenges in sacking PMB will be enormous but ousting him is a must. Patriotic Nigerians should include sending him back to daura on their to-do list.
