Printerscanner: This is wrong perspection every dead bodies undergo burning process at the end of the day either buried or cremated. Bury is a slow burning while cremation is a rapid burning. Mind you I don't support cremation for the good reason of ARCHEOLOGICAL EVIDENCE-BASED which @OP failed to list as one of the disadvantages of cremation. |

victorazyvictor:Saying someone is heartless isn't a complement. Also, it is an insult to say someone is talking like a fool or yarning gibberish. I find those words abusive and not just English. I need you to understand the uniqueness in the way we view situations and matters differ. As a result u need to respect other people's view. That been said, I think where I erred was the world Christians, I should have said some doctrine in Christianity does not support cremation. We are still good bro |

The first writing is just an OPINION of a person. The second was an hadith. In that hadith, was it pointed out that it was wrong? Was it forbidden? He did that to escape Allah's punishment and Allah forgave him of his sins. It was not said in the hadith that what he did was wrong. If a Muslim is to be cremated, he will still be washed and covered with clothe. Difference is instead of putting the body in the ground, the body is burnt. There is nothing humiliating in burning a body. There is also sea burial for people that died while traveling on the sea. In fact, Osama Bin Laden was given a sea burial by the US and I have not heard of any complaints about the sea burial. Look, in some instances, it is NOT practical to bury a body in the ground. In some part of China (Tibet), the body is cut up and given to vulture to eat! There country is rocky and there is not enough trees to burn the body. In fact, they usually cook with animal excrement, not wood. If a Muslim die in that place, how would you suggest the body be buried? In the Muslim world, burial in the ground is most common, that does not mean it is the only correct and acceptable way to dispose of a body. Remember that no matter the way a body is disposed, Allah will resurrect the body. You bury in ground, worms will eat. You bury in sea, fish will eat. You give to vulture, bird will eat. So what matter if you burn with fire? |

papiforreal: In the North, burial is FREE. It is a duty of Muslim community to bury Muslims and Muslims in the North take that duty seriously. The community buy land and employs people to dig graves and manage the cemetery. When family come to bury, they give whatever they can afford AFTER the burial. No negotiation, nothing 1 Like |

Sapiosexuality: At the moment a body is to be buried, the organs can no longer be donated. Organs can be donated and the body cremated after. They are not mutually exclusive |

Sapiosexuality: The longer the organ is inside a dead body, the more useless it becomes. In fact, organs to be used are harvested while the body is still alive |

mfm04622:Why wait for moment of burial for transplant if the organs and tissues are still intact at moment of death? Or you mean immediately we die our organs die as well? Please don't say yes. |
The first writing is just an OPINION of a person. mind you, not opinion of just a person, but opinion of a scholar who has the right to give verdict regarding islam |

mfm04622:Ustaz, please are you a scholar, or a student of a scholar? You never mention an hadith or quote a scholar explaining the topic of discussion. If you are not a scholar I will strongly suggest you avoid using your own intuition because you are not in that position. #justabrotherlyADVICE#. Now back to the topic, what is the sunnah of the Prophet regrading burial? . Please undestand that funeral in Islam is ibadah and it has to be done the way Islam prescribed it, anything otherwise is simply bidiah. Did the Prophet or the sahaabiyah burn their dead? Did any of the foremost Islamic scholars practice it. Please do it the way the Prophet ordered. |

dareyyyy: The fact that most communities bury does not mean other methods are not allowed. That is all am saying. Okay answer these questions. 1) If a Muslim died in a ship while on a sea journey, how will the body be buried? 2) If a Muslim died while in a place you can't dig. Tibet is such area in the world. They live on a mountain and it is mostly rock, how will the body be buried? Know that the most important thing for Allah is our ease. Allah is not interested in putting on us a burden. So in Islam, anything that is not expressly FORBIDDEN is allowed. So if cremation is not expressly forbidden for us, know that it is acceptable. |
