Senator Andy Uba is a Nigeria politician representing the people of Anambra South Constituency of Anambra State, Nigeria. In April 2011, Senator Uba contested and won a seat in the senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to represent Anambra south Senatorial District. A court ruling nullified the election and ordered a rerun, which he contested and won by a landslide victory.

His contribution to the success of the 7th Senate was exceptional and worthy of note. Senator Uba served as chairman Senate Committee on INEC, charged with the responsibility of amending existing electoral laws, to achieve free and fair election nationwide. Sen. Uba and the senate committee on INEC worked tirelessly and assiduously engaging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), civil society Organizations and other stakeholders.

Through collective effort, his committee was able to secure a comprehensive Amendment to the 2010 Electoral Act, which gave more stability to the administrative structure of INEC, thereby making INEC more independent.
