I noticed almost all the people who commend the president for making June 12 holiday are from the south.

More than 24 hours after the declaration no prominent northerner has made statements about it

Questions in my mind

Is it that the north are not happy for buhari declaring June 12 as democracy day

Secondly why will the president allow may 29 as holiday less than a week and declare another holiday in a week time.

Will there be holiday next week to mark democracy day again in 2018?

Good question. There's every evidence that this move was not thought out. As usual, APC/PMB will always act before they think! Some knowledgeable people are already condemning it as constitutionally wrong. Now they would need the services and demystified skills of Mr LIE and their vast array of e-rats to do damage control.

This honour given to Abiola is a great step taken by Buhari ...and it is supposed to be celebrated by everybody...

Buhari tried here.Abiola deserves honour. Also, GEJ deserves honour for once renaming UNILAG after MKO.

Well it can't be celebrated by everybody because June 12 does not carry any weight in Igbo land

It has been confirmed by a constitutional lawyer that no national award can be given to dead people except service men who died in action

Buhari as usual in a bit to score cheap political point ended up burning himself. Its not enough to recognize MKO a President without doing the following;
1. Declare 1993 Presidential results.
2. Declare MKO the elected president in june 12, 1993 elections.
3. Declare late Gen Sani Abacha's rule illegal/null and void. Abacha's rule from 1993-1998 was Abiola's mandate.
4 Declare Sani Abacha a thief for stealing Abiola's mandate.
5. Revoke all presidential benefits given to Abacha and his family.

Until buhari does the above, he's just deceiving himself.

And who told you he recognised MKO as president?
Since when did granting him with the highest national honour of GCFR amounted to declaring him president?
In your rush to mock Buhari you ended up instead exposing your own brand of intellectual laziness; the joke is now on you - hahahah!
