1. Replace Junior Lokosa with Kayode Olanrewaju because Kayode won the highest goalscorer and best player in the Austrian Bundesliga's award last season and prior to that he has been the most consistent Nigerian striker in Europe for the past 3 years where he was always among the top 3 highest goal scorer in those leagues. This season, he moved to Manchester City but because of work permit rules, he was sent on loan to Girona in the La Liga where he was played out of position and given limited game time. He won MOTM and made la Liga team of the week in the second match he started but was benched in the next match. This made him to request a move to another club and that saw him moved to Shakhtar Donetsk. It was there his impact was rewarded with another MOTM and made Shakhtar Donetsk player of the month.


2. Replace Kelechi Nwakali for Abdul Ajagun. This is because when Nwakali played in a competitive Eredivise this season, he couldn't make the team and didn't perform when he was given the chance. That prompted the coach to demote him to the bench before he was sent back to a division lower, which is the second division.

Meanwhile, this season, Abdul Ajagun was the best Nigerian performing Attacking midfielder in Europe. He already demonstrated his talent with Panathiniakos the Greece giants and Roda-jc where he won MOTMs, made team of week on few occasions before he moved to the Belgium pro league where he won MOTM and made team of the week with his 7 goals and 4 assists in 24 matches playing as an attacking midfielder. Hence, by merit he is better and he could have done better than Nwakali in that match against Athletico Madrid if given the chance.
Snapshot below shows his stats as a versatile player but performs better as an AMF.


3. Henry Onyekuru should be replaced with Peter Olayinka because Onyekuru as at the time the list was made, was out for 2 - 4 months and therefore, not considered fit enough. However, Peter Olayinka who was even doing better than Onyekuru before he got injured, continued to impress with 11 goals and 15 assists this season.

As the article says..long term injury plus not playing for his club much this season reduced his chances. Coaches prefer to select players partly on how many times they played for their clubs the precceding season.

We don't need to be told that politics entered the final collation of that 23 man list, but at the end of the day, if things should go wrong, Genert Roir will bear the brunt alone. But God will surely punish those playing pranks with the destiny and happiness of masses in this country.

Samuel Chukwueze should have made the cut... I've been following that guy and believe me his better than every left footed attacker we have in the team.

Just give it a rest already... No amount of inclusion or exclusion will blind the fact that the national team lacks even the least amount of cohesion, and is not ready/willing to play as a team!... Adding players like C. Ronaldo, or Messi will not improve squat.
i have seen far more mediocre quality of players of certain countries play with so much passion and unity that they brought down better formidable opponents.... Solution? Simple... Disband the entire team of mercenaries, go back to the drawing board, and assemble a youth team even from the grassroots, and build from there.

I listened to Bonfere Jo's interview with Brilla FM this morning, you wouldn't believe that they had misunderstanding among the technical crew against Italy in 94.
