we were talking about the beginning of coup in Nigeria. The man that started it all was fighting an unnecessary course for the igbos. He is the reason Nigeria has become like this. If he haven't started that coup killing all the hausas/Fulanis and yorubas in power, there wouldn't have bn something like Hausa counter coup which led to several other coups or before coups became a norm in Nigeria. Have you ever wondered why there have never for once bn any true love/love/romance/peace between the Igbos and the nothern people (Hausas/Fulani)? Or why Ojukwu started the agitation for the soverign state of Republic of Biafra? It was all thanks to chukwuma, he started it all, he was the reason why the hausas killed many of your people up front and Aguiyi Johnson Ironsi (The only head of state from the east). Anyway i wasn't supporting any tribe from my initail post and also here. I'm just telling you like others that Major General Chukwuma was the reason for the division in Nigeria. He created the problem the southern part of Nigeria is facing till date especially the south east. Yorubas are only using brain to collect what's ours from the hausas/fulanis up front while you people tagged it slavery. You can continue saying that though, once the hausas/fulanis knows and never mess with our importancy in Nigeria, then we don't care. And you eastern people should start using your brain. What's/ has befell you people is all your fault. The earlier you realize that and find a solution the better. God will help you people in your fight for freedom though. Buh you people should biko take mouth out of yoruba people matter. We are suppose to fight you the way the hausas/fulanis always do because of all what your people did in 1966 buh we didn't. So you people should learn to be grateful. And we are the reason Yakubu Gowon didn't wipe out all the igbo tribe during the civil war buh you'd always tag us backstabbers even when we are trying everything possible to make sure the nothern people don't wipe you out because of the hatred they have for you which you incured upon yourselves though.

#Salam

When I said you don't have knowledge of history I know what I was saying but I'm not in anyway trying to insult you I will suggest to you to do little research about the hate of the northern Nigerians to the Igbos before the independence and before 1966. The killing of the Igbos by the northerners did not start in 1966 . The division did not start with the 1966 coup as you think you understand. If you have a little time go to YouTube type (Nigeria passing the buck and fear of the enemy within ) just watch it it's just a little interview it may give you an idea what was going on before the 1966 .
1966 coup, yes Chukwma Nzeogwu led the coup and yes he is Igbo, but the likes of you have changed the narrative instead of Nigeria military coup it became an Igbo's coup.

The January 1966 coup was never an Igbo coup because Ohaneze Ndigbo never held a meeting to do coup.

It was organized by young officers whose stated aim was to release Awolowo and make him Prime Minister.

Remember that at that point, Awolowo was in prison after being convicted for coup plotting in 1962.

Those young officers should have simply resigned and joined their hero's party to campaign for him, instead of trying to seize power for him.

Ademoyega, Nzeogwu, Ifeajuna, why??

from the soldiers point of view, seizing power is the best option even till date it is the best thing to do if they had been successful
remember these officers were young graduate incorporated in to the nigerian army who see the open rot in the system differently from the way the illiterates hausas sees thing

till today a total clean up is what can still cure nigeria , a total clean up bringing all politicians from 1999 till date and mudering them then write a new constitution not one that will make govenor to have security vote or give law makers constituency allowance that they advance to their private pocket

sadly many people here think the politicians were better
they were the problem from day 1, they were the reason the military intervene in the first place, nigeria was not any better in there first 6 years , it was tribal, ethnic riddin and the popular south west crisis in 1964

If we are to rely on the BBC to release pictures of our yesteryears political life.

British people are the ones keeping our record for us.

What a shame.

But it is Major General Aguiyi Ironsi that plunged Nigeria into this military-styled federalism that have seen one part of the country producing crude oil for the rest part to just sit down and wait for easy money.

Until Nigeria is restructured into a true federal state where fiscal federalism and resource control become the tenet of operation Nigeria shall know no peace.

The General Ironsi type of federalism encourage MONKEY DEY WORK BABOON DEY CHOP.

Kano state contribute nothing to the centre but they collect huge allocation from the centre while Bayelsa state that is oil producing state is just made to make do with 8 local government areas.

Is Kano state not oppressing state like Lagos state that is contributing VAT MONEY to the centre?

General Ironsi is responsible for our disjointed federal structure many years after he was killed following the troubles that followed the 1966 coup.

Ex-President of Nigeria, General Olusegun Obasanjo who was one time a military head of state was not interested in correcting all this abnormalies in our federal structure.

Because other states are not been encourage to develop an exportable product of their own it tends to affects our national purse especially when crude price drop in the international market.

All the northern states and states in the middle belts regions including states in the southern part of Nigeria rely heavily on money sourced from crude oil sale to run their budget.

Until states develop or research a product that can bring money to their own economy they will continue to rely on oil money coming from other region which he equally retard their own individual progress as a state as you can not eat your cake and have it.

Oil producing community are devastated by acid rain and other environmental factors like what is happening in Ogoni land in Rivers state.

But the man in Abuja with flowing Agbada or Babariga does not know the environmental hazards oil producing community are facing from gas flaring and crude oil processing.

All the Abuja big men does is to spend the money sourced from oil producing community to live a flamboyant life style while the oil producing community continue to wallow in poverty and environmental degradation.

Why do you people always spit this trash self? Why can't you people just ask the oil producing state governments why their states are not developing instead of always holding the Federal govt all the time. It is whatever a country have they use to finance the country irrespective of where it is located. South south governments are the one failing their people not FG. All those bad roads we see always on papers in Delta state are not federal roads. What is Okowa doing? Mimiko, ex ondo state governor repaired lots of FG roads in ondo state during his tenure which the money was refunded later even though most of the money wasn't refunded during his tenure.

I think you have it wrong with Aguiyi Ironsi. Aguiyi Ironsi never planned any coup, he was caught unawares by the coup. Also, in the 6 months Ironsi was in power, he did not take away resource control from the Regions. The Regions were still getting 50% of the resources in their land throughout Ironsi's rule. The person who divided the Regions into states and took away resource control was Gowon.
