JUBILATION AS OKEZIE IKPEAZU ATTRACTS LICENSING OF ELECTRICITY GENERATION AND DISTRIBUTION TO ARIARIA MARKET, ABA, ABIA STATE

In a very rare move hardly possible in the history of our nation but which confirms the vision for a greater and modern Abia, and the doggedness the State governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu in not only building first class infrastructure but also attracting same to the state, the National Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, has granted licences for 9.5megawatts embedded electricity generation Licence to Ariaria Market Independent Power Plant Limited and an Independent Electricity Distribution Licence to Ariaria Independent Energy Distribution Network Limited to distribute same within Ariaria Market, Aba, in God's Own State.

This is to extricate the humongous market which is reputed for massive shoemaking and other leather works, garment production and other "Made in Aba" products supplied and patronised even beyond the shores of Africa, from the inefficiency of the current power suppliers that has almost crippled businesses in the market.

With this new development, thousands of Abians and other Nigerians doing business in the popular Ariaria market will enjoy stable power supply round the clock as the newly licensed companies will generate power on their own solely for distribution to only the market.

This, no doubt has thrown entrepreneurs and traders in Aba in particular and Abia in general into tumultuous jubilation as leaders and members of the Abia State Markets Amalgamated Traders Association (ASMATA), an umbrella body of all traders in the state, through their Chairman, Chief Emeka Enechebe, thanked the governor effusively for working so hard to attract the laudable licences to them. He said there is no doubt that such licensing would surely put Abia State in the forefront of industrialisation and lead to the creation of greater employment opportunities for Abians.

Dr Okezie Ikpeazu had said that his vision remains to create a new Abia which every Abian will be proud of based on his 5 pillars of development which are Education, Agriculture, Commerce, Industry and Oil & Gas.

Finally, it has come to stay, the good people of Abia are now enjoying the dividends of democracy after 16years of neglect and decay. We have good and visionary leaders in PDP. OVI till 2023.

I knew you buhari minions will be here to 'celebrate' more than the people getting the embedded power supply! You act as if b'cos of this we should all now be expected to queue in line to kiss buhari butt! That a few stuff done in the twilight of his four year term in office with an eye on the forthcoming elections would be enough to cancel out all the wickedness and neglect the bastard has visited on Ndigbo...not to forget how his hands are stained with the blood of innocent Igbo youth!
