At least, the Northern Leaders have shown they are concerned about the terrorism situation in the country and not in support of Buhari as widely believed by the Ibos . Buhari is a key member of the Northern Elders Forum before he became President which they thought would give them direct access to the presidency. Some of them were prevented from having unrestricted access which made them to be in opposition to PMB.

Pa Balarabe Musa has been the most realistic elder. He said the coalition of political parties against Buhari cannot work and it failed woefully. He said while admitted Buhari did not meet expectations, the North has not come up with any candidate better than PMB.
