where is it stated in nigeria constitution that the ruling party must present the senate president?

vRendoh:

“Yes, he can still keep his position as Senate President despite his defection. He can only be removed as Senate President if he is voted out by two-third of the majority.

As the ruling party and with majority in the House, it is ideal they have the senate President.

Who cares what the "majority" thinks The constitution says 2/3 and that is ALL that matters

They should know better!

“Yes, he can still keep his position as Senate President despite his defection. He can only be removed as Senate President if he is voted out by two-third of the majority.
i.e it still depends on the majority ..,more betrayal in apc is what can save saraki if they decide to impeach him ..
people will comprehend statements like this better if they put personal interest aside,,

Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee (PACAC) said Senate President Bukola Saraki can still keep his position as Senate President despite defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP).

In a chat with Daily Independent, Sagay said Saraki can only be removed from the position by two-thirds of senators but added that the APC as the majority party will not want to concede the position to the PDP which is in the minority.

“Yes, he can still keep his position as Senate President despite his defection. He can only be removed as Senate President if he is voted out by two-third of the majority.

“So, it doesn’t depend on what party you are in, any party can be there. Although, the majority party is not going to concede that post to a minority party as he (Saraki) conceded the position of Deputy Senate President to PDP. It is only when you are an arch-betrayer that you do that sort of thing".

Don't be deceived. I am sure prof Sagay would have been singing another tune but for the fact that he said in 2014 that the defection of Tambuwa from PDP to APC was legal. The prof is ashame to eat his words.
Very true.

He had no other option since he already spoke similarly in 2015.

It was more like trying to save face.

The last time I checked the 2/3 of 109 is above 52 undecided

So my dear the current number of APC now is not enough to impeach the Senate president!

I do not not have personal interest but national interest! Once opposition is killed in this country then I am afraid our democracy has gone to the dogs!

2/3 of senators not party majority. Apc can never mobilise that ratio in any sitting unless their night sitting that they attempted recently

His integrity was at stake because he had set himself up in 2014 when he advised Tambuwal not to step down after changing parties

You cannot be complainant and judge.

Ultimately WHO is to be the judge about constitutionality ? YOU?

Guy leave that story. It all comes down to opnion and preference. Forgetting the constitution is not only by acts of commission but also omission

Not only by speaking but not speaking

The most obvious breach is failing to obey court court orders ordering the release of Dasuki and the Shiite leader, but there was the case of paying for helicopters without appropriation. Did he talk?

There are COUNTLESS examples of constitutional breaches under this government like the one before it.

The fact is when those are presented you can easily start another argument about whether they are breaches or not.

We heard Malami's bizarre argument about why Dasuki cannot be released.

You tell us where the president derieves authority to issue his most recent Executive order which seeks to usurp the role of the courts
