Kwara South Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, has alleged that senators belonging to the Parliamentary Support Group, PSG, received the sum of $1m each to impeach Senate President Bukola Saraki and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu.

The lawmaker made the allegation while speaking with Channels TV at NASS on Tuesday at the lobby of the National Assembly in Abuja.

Mr Ibrahim, who belongs to Pro-Saraki group, also protested the invasion of the National Assembly by officers of the Department of State Services and Police Force.

He said:
“I can authoritatively tell you that those senators behind the desecration of the National Assembly collected $1m each to impeach the Senate President and his Deputy. You can quote me anywhere on this”.

Another prominent member of the Pro-Saraki group, Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West, accused the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, of collecting signatures of lawmakers with the aim of effecting a leadership change in the upper chamber of the National Assembly.

Today again senator Rafiu Ibrahim has said $1million.

Keep on wailing it's allowed. The list they are showing us as PDP senators has those that defected to ADC and even senator Buruji Kashamu that was expelled from PDP.

News coming out from Uyo has it that Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom and his loyalist/friends and Eket zone people where he comes from are regretting why they didn't defect to APC last year when the rift with Akpabio started, when he as a governor had a good working relationship with the president, that Akpabio has capitalised on the area they failed to utilise and defected before them and therefore shutting them out.
