Shaibu Adah Mohammed, a kogi state governorship aspirant under the peoples Democratic party, PDP has joined credible politicians across Nigeria to show solidarity to the national assembly members as they were stopped from entering their chambers yesterday.
What the DSS did to say the least is totally condemnable and completely unacceptable. It should be disregarded and rejected by every lover of democracy in Nigeria, Africa and the world over.
With this kind of display of disrespect for Democratic institutions by the security forces of the DSS, democracy should be seen to be under threat and that must be stopped so that our people in the federal capital city, state and the local government areas can have hope and trust in their activities.
The national assembly should be left alone to face their duties while the security of the nation should also be allowed to do their duties professionally as constituted by the law.
He stated this in lokoja while addressing party supporters at a meeting of party faithfuls. In the meeting shaibu Mohammed made it clear that Nigeria belongs to everybody and nobody is above the law. In a country like Nigeria, we must all stand up as a family and defend democracy. The rule of law is what gives democracy the powers to provide good and quality leadership and that is what Nigeria requires at a time like this.
The security of the legislative arm of government is very necessary and if they continue in this manner there will be no regard for their protection which is expected to be their constitutional responsibility as a government institution.
Mohammed also said pertaining the 2019 general elections, Nigerians should expect a total participation of the electioneering activities by the youths and women which have been low in the recent years.
And for kogi state it is for sure that power will return to the PDP with him as Governor of the people.
The people of kogi state will speak on election day and for the fact that the economy of kogi state has been grounded due to lack of quality leadership and good governance, we shall by the grace of God return kogi state like other state of delta, rivers, akwa ibom and abia states where the true dividends of democracy is provided for the people at ease.
As governor we shall put kogi state on the map of a proper Democratic stage where the right projects will be carried out at the right time for the good of the people.
What the people of kogi state needs right now is basic amenities in good drinking water, good roads, good hospitals healthcare facilities, good and quality education, working schools, good soft loans for farmers, market women and youths for petty ubusiness and trade, good security of lives and property, constant electricity supplies and youth employment and foreign investment.
Its very sure, with me as our 2019 governor, kogi state will move forward for the betterment of all.
And finally I personally appeal to all our party members and supporters to give us more time to work out a very solid campaign team so that when we takeoff surely it shall give us the chances of taking over by 2019 by God's grace.
