What is needed is 2/3 of senator's sitting in a session and not 2/3 of the national Assembly.
Sarakillers is a goner
Sai baba till 2023.
This is the reason pdp senators are now sleeping in national assembly...

There can never be peace in the Senate chamber until saraki is removed. A minority party cannot lead the majority, it is against democratic best(ranting of an ant!) practises all over the world. Saraki himself his aware of this obvious truth but he's shamelessly holding the country to ransom due to greed and insatiable desire for power. He either resign honourably or be impeached by simple majority.

I already addressed another ignorant poster like you on what transpired in the US congress under Obama. Look up the post on this thread and educate yourself properly.

I beg to differ, I think you are the ignorant respondent here because the laws that govern their congress is different from that which governs our national assembly.

USA Congress House laws states that the party with majority representatives elect the speaker, while in their senate the vice president of USA is the senate president while the majority leader stands in for him in his absence.
Now, about the events during Obama's tenure: republicans won 63 more seats at the mid term elections and became the majority party. Therefore, based on their LAW, democrat Nancy Pelosi had to step down for republican John Boehner. This was a massive setback to the Obama administration as the typically conservative republicans stifled many Obama bills and it came to a standstill when the government had to shut down for 16 days because congress failed to pass obamacare while Obama too would not yield to their demands, leaving many civil servants of affected agencies with no work and therefore no pay for that period.

In Nigeria, however, senate and house rules states that the candidate (senator and honourable) with the highest number of votes regardless of party affiliation becomes president but the traditionally, the majority party always has its way. However, if other parties have the number to come together and defeat the majority party's candidate, then their choice will be the senate president, and that's what happened with the Saraki case. He took his APC goons and agreed with PDP senators to give him their support in exchange for the vice president position. They hatched the plan overnight including forming new house rules, fooled the Tinubu-Buhari click, got the number to form a quorum and executed their plan to perfection. And house rules, which is a legal document that has backing in the Nigerian constitution, states that only a two-third vote by members can remove the senate leadership.

I do understand the fact that we can't continue to run the cycle of tricks, however, we have no choice in this case but to wait till the next senate is being inaugurated before we can correct this mistake as any attempt to do otherwise will only continue to cause chaos and the international community will, in one way or the other, sanction us if democratic values are rejected for a dictatorial approach.

So go figure, Mr. Intelligent.

Cite where it's written in the constitution! So barricading of NASS is part of democratic best practices?? Not interfering with NASS affairs is part of democratic best practices?

There is a certain Honourable Aminu Tambuwal who defected from the PDP to the APC and continued as Speaker of a House of Representatives with an overwhelming PDP majority. You guys are only good at turning history on its head. If not for the vigilance of Nigerians you liars would have sold Nigeria by now and handed us the change
