The presidency, yesterday, explained why there is pressure from within and outside the country on President Muhammadu Buhari to seek a second term in office, even as it decried the cocktails of fake and hate news against the president.

Spokespersons of the Presidency, Mr. Femi Adesina, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity and Mallam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, informed journalists that the president would contest and win next year’s election by a wider margin.

On why much pressure is on President Buhari to seek a second term, Shehu said: “President Buhari will run in 2019 and he will win. The pressure is even coming from outside the country for him to run, because they belief is that there is the need for Buhari’s firm hands to stabilize the country,”

They stated that irrespective of the high level of hatred and fake news being circulated on the social media, what will be in 2019 will be, and “what will happen is that President Muhammadu Buhari would win with a wider margin of ballots than he polled in 2015.” While decrying the deleterious import of fake news and hate news, Adesina traced what happened in Rwanda and Kenya to fake news, stressing that journalists on the traditional media should take utmost care in balancing reports and ensuring the veracity of their reports.

He said facts on the ground reveal that President Buhari has recorded monumental achievements in the past three years, particularly in infrastructure, security and fight against corruption such that greater percentage of Nigerians want him back in office for a second term.

Referring to feedback from a radio programme, Adesina added: “Those speaking against the President are a vocal minority, but they have voice and when they speak, there is a cacophony and you will think that it is Nigerians that are speaking. If it is just for the rail projects alone, some people say they will vote for Buhari.

“Others say that if it is just for the honour done to Chief MKO Abiola, they will vote for Buhari, while there are those who say that if it is that people can now sleep with their eyes closed in the Northeast, they will vote for the President.“Different people have different reasons why they will vote for President Buhari. All those making noise should not forget that democracy is a game of numbers, so let’s wait and see,” he stated.

Adesina disclosed that instead of focusing on the realities, the vocal minority decided to create alternative facts in a cacophony of voices to create the erroneous impression that theirs represent the voices of Nigerians.

While dismissing claims that Nigerian youth are disenchanted over the President’s performance, the Presidency said: “There was a time so much noise about the youth saying that the President called them lazy youths. The impression then in the social media was that all the youths of this country are against Buhari. In fact, some people spoke as if the youth have gathered their votes somewhere and will carry them against Buhari on election day, but a week after that hullaballoo, we went to Bauchi, the crowd that came out had more than 75 per cent of youths, and I have seen such a crowd in my life.

“The impression was that youths were angry, but what is the President working for? To secure the country! Who will inherit the country? The youth! When you fight corruption; there is more revenue for development. Who will the development favour? Youths! If the economy booms, who will enjoy the country? Youths!”.The Presidency said although the Boko Haram has actually been defeated what looks like resurgence of the insurgency revolves around the criminality adding that as obtains all over the world, time is needed to counter the ideology through deradicalisation.

He will exceed it with more underage voters and foreigners from Niger, Chad, Mali.
While also bribing INEC to deactivate PVC card readers in South East, South South and Middle Belt.
Those were his strategies in 2015, and he would repeat them in 2019 on a larger scale.

This we already know. Even the die hard fanatics of PDP know this. Reason why they went to their propaganda mills to bring us some demonic news about some foreign governments pressurising Baba not to run, rather favoring a candidate like BABAGANA KINGIBE!

Just imagine that! grin grin

How many years does the president needs to stabilize the country? Nigeria needs a young, energetic and vibrant president come 2019. If PMB wins come 2019 then it will take us another 4 years to plan for our restructuring. God forbid bad thing

If the election is about selecting the most outstanding Public Servant in entire post independent Nigeria, PMB would have my vote anyway.
If however the election is about electing a Functional and not ceremonial President who will take Nigeria to the next level in the third decade of the twenty first century, then considering PMB would be a sovereign disservice.
We should give PMB his deserved rest! The monumental achievements of this national hero must not be effaced by pushing him beyond his given era. Mandela bowed out of power when the ovations were loudest globally. PMB should borrow a leaf!
Certainly, those advocating his reelection are users and abusers if they are not ignorant illiterates

BUHARI:
The first and only President to lead Nigeria into Recession twice back to back

You met Nigeria in single digit inflation and took it to double digit inflation ..

You met fuel price at 87 Naira a litre with subsidy and took it to 145 Naira a litre still with subsidy..

You met subsidy payments at 300 billion Naira a year and today it's 1.4 trillion Naira

You met two partially working refineries and today not one is working

You met our external debt at about 5.5 billion dollars and today it's 52 billion dollars .

You met a govt that used Key Perfomance Indexing (KPI) to task its ministerial team today our ministerial teams don't even have goals tankless of one that's measurable ..

You met a Nigeria with a boisterous growing middle class and today you have completely eroded that middle class.

You met a middle belt that was one of the safest place in Nigeria but today it has been overrun by terrorists you are clearly sympathetic with..

You met a Military and security hierarchy that reflected good spread of all major Nigerian tribes and religion and today you have completely tribalised it ..

You met a less divisive Nigeria and today Nigeria has never been more divisive

You met a growing educational system with new schools being built in the north today not a single school or book has been built by your govt ..

You met a Nigeria with 25 percent capital expenditure and today for three years you have run a zero capital expenditure govt just like you did in the 80s.

You were handed Africa's largest economy and in three years you have made it one of the shitiest economies in Africa ..

You have left every single of our Human Development Indexes far worst than you met it from infant mortality to the police force . Every single one ..

I dare you Buhari to provide just one Human Development Index you improved since coming on-board.

You were handed over a growing free and fair democracy which you have reduced to tyrannical fascist show of shame in just 3 years.

BUHARI, you have made Nigeria worse in every ramification:
-Disobedience to court orders
-Media trying of corrupt officers.
-Herdsmen killing
-Massive unemployment
-Colonial masters asslicking
-Demarketing the country
-Open hate to other tribes
-Incessant medical tourism

COPIED.

Adeshina should provide answers to the following:

DAPCHI GIRLS ABDUCTION

There are questions begging for answers. Nigerians are looking up to the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government to provide answers to these questions.

First, reports have it that a few days before the abduction, troops were withdrawn from checkpoints and strategic positions in the community. Consequently, the insurgents allegedly had an unchallenged outing as they made for the school and seamlessly took their prey. Even though the Defence Headquarters has since denied this report, the governor of the state, who is also the Chief Security Officer of the state, has insisted that troops were withdrawn. In addition, we read of the drama that took place in the blame game between the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force regarding this matter. The question is, who ordered the withdrawal of troops days before the incident?

Second, although the Defence Headquarters in its usual manner has denied the allegation, Amnesty International has alleged and still insists that calls were put through to alert the army of a possible attack by the Boko Haram insurgents hours before the abduction took place. Apart from denying this allegation, what has the Federal Government done to investigate this allegation? Who received the call, at what time, and through what means?

Third, on the day of their release, reports have it that the insurgents drove the schoolgirls back to Dapchi unarmed and unchallenged, and they exchanged pleasantries with the community leaders and villagers who cheered them on. When did insurgents become the friends of their victims’ community? Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information, told us that they acted on moral grounds; but I am still asking myself when terrorists began to practise morality. To make the issue more complicated, the girls who were allegedly abducted in the night, perhaps with no time to pack their belongings considering the state of confusion they would have been at the time of their abduction, returned with bags full of belongings. One would be forced to ask if Boko Haram insurgents now take their captives out on a shopping spree or if they have a supermarket in their hideouts and decided to show these poor girls some act of kindness.

All these point to one direction: Could it be that the Buhari-led Federal Government stage-managed this whole drama to appeal to people’s sympathy in order that they might stay in power beyond 2019? This assumption is not far-fetched as one deserted “Sergeant David” has alleged that the whole script was written, directed and produced from Aso Rock with some funds exchanging hands. Even though the defence headquarters has denied this allegation as usual, the whole scenario betrays its claims.
