News broke a few days ago that the Nigerian Army would commence a military exercise code named operation Python dance 3 in the South East. The first operation happend in 2016 and the second in 2017. These exercises have cost lives with the bloodiest by far being that of last year when the Nigerian Army killed many people in the South East and commited many acts of human rights abuse recorded on video. The authorities have stated that the aim of these exercises is to fight criminality and to train the troops.

Th constitutional role of fighting crime is that of the Police, not the Army. The Army has no right to investigate, arrest or charge anyone to court. These are the duties of the Police. Military training is done in remote places which is far away from the civilian populace because such training where guns, tanks and other weapons of war are used, can be dangerous.

So one wonders what the motive behind this exercise is? In 2017 when they carried it out the exercise, the SE was one of the most peaceful places in the country with no armed group, no killings and no destruction of properties. Other places like the Niger Delta had militants, the middle belt was plagued with killer Herdsmen and the North East is being ravaged by Boko Haram.

So why is this exercise being conducted in the SE where nobody wants it, where nobody is armed and nobody is crying out for military assistance? Why come to a place where there is no violence to cause violence and death? What is the purpose of this exercise when all it does is lead to killings in a place that was otherwise peaceful?

My fellow Igbos, operation Python dance is an act of state sponsored terrorism and genocide on our people by the Buhari regime. Whatever anyone thinks of Kanu or IPOB, they did not take up arms nor kill anyone. So why was military intervention needed in a peaceful situation? Other countries send the military to bring peace to violent situations, Nigeria sends the military to bring violence to a peaceful situation.

The Igbo nation should hold Buhari responsible for all those who were killed in these unnecessary and illegal military exercises as well anyone killed during operation Python dance 3!

The so called military operation in the SE against IPOB is not only uncalled for, but an act of gangsterism.
There has not been IPOB rallies in the SE, there has not been any outbreak of violence or rise in criminality in the region. So why deploy tanks to patrol the region and harass bus drivers and Keke riders to pay them bribes? Then those who refuse to pay are shot and called criminals?

Buhari is a shameless murderer. However, Nigerians should ignore such an evil President and go get their PVC now. Let him continue his misrule of Nigeria, it is soon coming to an end.
