The Yobe government has placed a 12-hour restriction order on movement of vehicles across the state during the Eid prayer, for security reasons.

A statement issued by Alhaji Abdullahi Bego, Director General, Press Affairs to Yobe governor, announced this on Monday.

He said, “Gov. Ibrahim Gaidam has approved the placement of a 12-hour restriction of vehicular movement across the state as part of preparations for a peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el Kabir prayers on Tuesday, 21st August.

“The restriction begins from 10.00p.m tonight (Monday), to 10.00a.m tomorrow (Tuesday).

“The public is kindly advised that no vehicle will be allowed within or near Eid praying grounds except those on special duties,” he said.

He noted that the restriction order followed the outcome of security meeting between the governor and security chiefs in the state.

Bego urged the members of the public to cooperate with security agencies throughout the sallah period and beyond.

America is believed to be a fore runner in terms of the most powerful nation. Every country that believe in orthodox spirit or philosophy are looking up to the U. S of A.

Security is one of the top most secret that America can never joke with.

There's a common saying among the FBI "we can break the law to protect the nation"

If the governor of that state breaks the law to protects its subject, there is no cause for alarm.

One of the constraints facing the fundamental human rights are curfew, house arrest, custom and tradition, and the one that the governor in that state did. But the governor is justified "for security reasons and safety".

Which make sense, give up your freedom (not to move ooo, but not to move with vehicle) for just 12 hours and everybody is safe or don't make such rule and you hear that Boko Haram used car bomb in Eid ground killing hundreds?

If you are the leader, which will you chose?

He said no movement of vehicles... They didn't say people should not move and perhaps, did you know how long this people have been suffering from insecurity.

The government is talking about security and it has nothing to do with the violation of human rights.

Muric is talking about the violation of human rights that was abused by the Afrelist. The Afrelist violated "freedom of movement "

This is not about religion, this is about security and safety of Nigerians! This is not about restrictions of movement, you can go anywhere you like, unlike in Osun. You can't just go with vehicle. This is also put in place by the governor who has the power to do so, not by some priests. This is very different with the traditionalist in Osun. It is even Muslims that are affected by this as they have to walk to Eid ground no matter how far away from their home it is

If Boko Haram Strike and kill hundreds, you will blame Government for not being proactive

Please think.

The ban on vehicle is from 10 pm on Monday to 10 AM on Tuesday. How does that stop anybody from earning his daily bread?
This is to make work of security officials easier. They work. For example, there is no Sallah for them, they have to be on duty

Nothing wrong about that. The state, like the rest in the north east, is security volatile in the contemporary time.
Do you want a situation where down to dusk curfew is imposed across the state after those criminals might have unleashed terror on the people? Or are you not concerned?

Not everything should be looked from the religious point of view.
