2019 Election: Rochas Okorochas Formerly Declared Interest To Run For Senate

Report Reaching IGBERE TV says the  executive Governor of  Imo State, Rochas Okorocha  has formally declared to join  the   senatorial race for Orlu zone in  2019 .



This was made known over the weekend after Orlu Zone Political Leaders paid him courtesy visit in the  Government House begging him to contest for the senate based on his past achievement records in the zone.



According to a press statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo. Governor Okorocha would be contesting the position on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, (APC).



The statement read in parts : “Governor Okorocha would be running for senate in 2019. “And since he made the open declaration to run for the Senate, there has been high level excitement across the State and moreover in Orlu Zone since one good turn deserves another.

“He thanked people of the state and Orlu his zone for loving him and appreciating all he has done for the state as their governor, despite criticism from the opposition in the state.”

On why they persuaded Okorocha to seek the position, Dr. Steve Orji, who led the Orlu zone political leaders, said that looking at the governor’s monumental achievements in the state, the leaders have no other option than to ask him to run for the Senate to represent the zone.

Nigerians have been waiting for this great moment Senator Rochas. When we thought that there's no one left to rule the affairs of our nation, then God brought you out from hidden to lead our country. Leadership is what many youths have been running away from in this nation. Thank God you took the bold step to be our leader once again. Thank you Sir. Nigerians will always remember and support you in their prayers. We will always need leaders like you.

May somebody like Anayo Rochas Okorocha never depart from your lineage. In short, may your benefactors always love and treat you the exact way Rochas has been treating Imo state, Iseeeee!

Rigging, if not, how can Rochas think of winning Senate seat for Orlu zone which he holds in disdain? He refused to do any meaningful project in Orlu zone, no drinking water.

Rochas did almost all his development projects in Owerri zone.


He even opened up another IMSU Campus in Owerri zone, but seeks to trade Orlu campus of IMSU with Owerri for his private university in his village.


He destroyed Orlu zonal stadium because of grudges against some Orlu politicians, but built an ultramodern stadium in Okigwe.

25% is too small to come from imo state. At leadt 70% is ideal.

The story is not confirmed but it is the truth. He hss said is at some fora that he wants to retire in the senate. Hopefully we all know that the senate is the retirement home of the governors who want to stay politically relevant. However let's see how it plays out between him and Hope Uzodimma!
