Blackview has silently unveiled the Blackview BV9600 Plus, a rugged smartphone with In-display fingerprint scanner. Blackview specializes in making rugged phones, but we are impressed on how the company integrated the trendy in-display fingerprint scanner on the BV9600 Plus. The phone comes loaded with NFC and packs a bunch in the RAM and storage departments.



Design and Display

The Blackview BV9600 Plus is a rugged smartphone quite alright, it was built with a combination of Polycarbonate and Metal. It boasts of IP68 certifications, offering dust and water resistant. According to this report by Mobile Crypto Tech, the device has no rear fingerprint scanner, the scanner has been moved to the screen.

The phone sports a 6.21-inch full-HD+ AMOLED screen panel with a notch and dishes out 19:9 aspect ratio all under the protection of the Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
The resolution of the screen is 1080 x 2248 pixels with 402ppi. You can unlock the device by placing your hand at the bottom of the screen as well.



Camera and Processor

The BV9600 Plus is equipped with dual 16MP + 8MP rear shooters from Samsung. Specifically, S5K3P8 + S5K4H7 super bright 6-element lenses, the cameras boasts of f/2.0 + f/2.4 aperture, 1.0 μm + 1.12 μm pixel size and 1/3.1″ + 1/4″ sensor size.
The camera is great but cannot be compared to that of the XIAOMI REDMI NOTE 6 PRO with four cameras.



It shoots 4K videos as well @30fps as well, while the 8MP selfie camera on the notch has f/2.0 aperture, 1.126 µm pixel size and 0.18′ sensor size.
The MediaTek Helio P60 (MT6771) chip takes control underneath, it comes with an octa-core processor clocking in 2.0GHz. In the graphics department, the ARM Mali-G72 MP3 graphics card plays its role pretty well.

Storage and Battery

There’s 6GB/8GB RAM space variants and 128GB storage space, nonetheless, you can expand that to 256GB with a memory card. The battery capacity is 5000mAh with fast charging, this should get you through a full day after a single charge.

The Blackview BV9600 Plus was announced in Black color only, no words yet if other colors will be rolled out as well. The price is pegged at $299 for the 6GB/128GB variant and $349 for the 8GB/128GB variant. It should be available on shopping stores in the coming weeks.
