@ Tamita, yes it is the survival of the fittest, but im suprise the way guyz will lie just to get sometin out of u, the guy that i squat in his crib, parly wit one of his friend and extort money from me in the name that he will arrange a work for me through one agent he knows, that he has done so to many guyz that came here. out of ignorance i gave him half of the money promising him i will give him the rest when i start the job, i give out the money because of the guyz i squat in his crib because he is the person i know, but the way im viewing things now, they have chop me, Now im not comfortable staying in that house again, by next week i will pay for a house wit someone,

@Prince onx, my good friend. long time? NO im not in aduro camp yet, i still have valid visa. but oh boy is not easyoooo. now that i understand all that guyz are saying about abroad. But anyway God dey!!!!

bro, after all the advices/warning you got from NL, you should have known that the minute you landed in Europe (or wherever), you should have turned into a LION because if you dont and act like a sheep, you will be eaten alive by the lions out there!

go have a walk around Grünerløkka and tell foreigners over there that you are looking for a job. go to bars and ask them if they are looking for kitchen help/cleaners etc. if you see black people in the street, go talk to them and tell them that you are looking for a job, maybe they know somebody who knows somebody. . . . . . . . make it happen!

the only place you should DEFINITELY avoid is OSLO S station!

and also very important: du må lære å snakker Norsk!!!!

back when i was living in Oslo, all around the train station was the breeding ground for all the junkies, dealers, ashewos and pimps thus high police presence (not a nice/safe place to hang at for a soon to be illegal immigrant)
Re: Moving To Norway Soonest by mi2010: 8:09am On Sep 08, 2010
@ mrbrownjay, i thank u so much for the advise what u said is true about the oslo station. i have witness that after my 5th day im here. alot of things are going on there, guyz are desperate to make money in this europe with all sorts of unclean act even our girls , i witness where they sale what the have in other to send money home.
Brownjay, i dont want to get a job to wash dishes or clean in a restaurant, i never try this kind of thing in my life is so disgusting to me, to wash what another person uses to eat, I read materials and metallurgical engineering at NAU. So what i am planning now is to just get an agent that will secure a job for me then i can go back to nigeria to get employment visa because i cannot use a visitors visa to work.

@frankkky, my humble friend!! i so much appreciate u. u are great, u are really inspiring me a lot with ur words. U WIL LIVE LONG!!!
I am trying my best,

Doing those jobs is just a stepping stone, it will pay the bills and rent BEFORE you know how to go about things.
Even if you come back with employment visa chances are that u will do unskill jobs before moving on in life.

I don't think you are ready to get down and dirty in Europe yet

You really are incredibly funny and naive, who told you can get a job with your Nigerian degree in Norway? Even educated Germans, Swedish, polish people  are all here doing menial jobs, and you talk as if you can just come here and pick up a job with your Nigerian degree. Guy, even if you get a job, you must start with the low life jobs. Many Blacks and Nigerians here have 1 or 2 master degrees and they do menial jobs here; So Man, do not place too much unrealistic targets on yourself, or you will get frustrated here in Norway.

Besides, I dont really see how much you can cope or get a job as a black man if you do not have a little knowledge of the Norsk language. Sorry, if I sound a little negative, but I live here and I want to be blunt.

hi mr poster,i think you have done very well so far.put this in mind now that you are in norway, because i can sense that you are a sensible person, try to continue socialising with people you meet there, and always remember that your help come from God.God will not come to you as a spirit but as a man, he can be white, black or even a woman. if you able to get any job,go for it but watch you back 24/7 because you alone can keep your self safe. when ever you ask for advice from someone ,always decide on your own if the advice is right for you or wrong.just knowing the different between good and bad is enough.make friend with the young, even the old,but keep one secret to yourself, that one secret will always keep your safe.

do you know how many Africans/Asians/South American are in Europe hustling to make a Euro/Kroner etc?
you are not the first and wont be the last so thinking that it would be a walk in the park is  lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

bro, people are giving you sound advices but you still want to believe that you will have it "your" way.
yeah its possible but be real/humble about life and your options, what you need right now is an income and since you A) dont speak the language and B) dont have valid papers to work, i doubt you would get a job at the bank etc.

the jobs i mentioned are the type of jobs where you need very little language skills, you dont have to do it forever but just until you can get yourself sorted. if you think that you can do without the extra income then fair enough. also finding a job isnt only about the financial aspect of it but that you will mingle with different people and broaden your chances to learn the language and way of life AND hopefully make real NORWEGIAN friends.

btw: what employer will give you a legal employment visa offer when you dont even speak the language?  beware of dubious "agents" that will use your desperate state to rob you blind. the same 419/con-artist that are plenty plenty in 9ja are also awash in Europe!
good luck!

who go dash monkey banana? definitely non. you made the funniest statement here, or are you dreaming? if you really want to help your self, tell the white people that you are looking for where to be carring shit with your bare hands, tell them you have done it in Nigeria, tell them  you are a professional shit carrier. that will convince them that you are desperately and humbly willing to work despite the fact that you don't have document and you don't speak their language.

if actually you are not dreaming, having document and degree is not a guaranty that  you will get  menial job talkless of a professional job or do you think you are the only person with that degree? a lot of Europeans with greater degrees do accept menial jobs for a beginning. WAKE UP.
Re: Moving To Norway Soonest by frankkky: 9:38am On Sep 09, 2010
@mi 2002 my brother you have to start from somewhere just as others here has rightly pointed out to you,i understand its because you are new thats why you were talking like that,u need those jobs you call menial to start, infact many peeps have used those "menial" jobs to help their families back home, some have built houses through those jobs, some have even built up capital through those kind of jobs to start their own succesfful business today(am a living example)in europe there is diginty in labour, the police respect a cleaner on the street than a drug seller anyday,in nigeria a cleaner earns next to nothing, construction workers the same thing, but here a cleaner earns average of 1,000 euros or more depending on the country and number of hours now calculate the exchange rate of 1000 euros to naira ,remove that naija mentality of looking down on certain jobs because here those jobs pay my brother and remember these things are only going to be temporay if you plan yourself well, minmise your spendings, and before you know it you would be doing what you want and living the life bro,all the best
