Whether he leave or not Atiku can never win Kano I repeat it Atiku can never win Kano and the rest of the northwest states including northeast with the exception of Taraba. Kwankwanso if you know is no more interested in who win Kano, he is more interested on how to remove Ganduje from being reelected.

Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has threatened to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if the leadership of the party in Abuja removed any member of the Kwankwasiyya movement from the list of its aspirants.

Recall that Kwankwaso had held primaries for various elective offices in Kano which were allegedly won by his chosen aspirants, leaving aside other PDP members.

A source within the party confided to Daily Trust yesterday that the former governor sounded the warning of leaving the party during a meeting held at Legacy House, Abuja.

The meeting, which commenced at 3pm and ended around 5pm, was attended by many PDP stakeholders including Bello Hayatu Gwarzo and Ambassador Aminu Wali among others.

According to the source, the meeting was organised to review the list of aspirants from Kano State.
The Senator Mas’ud El-Jibril Doguwa-led faction of the PDP had also conducted its primaries where candidates emerged for various offices.

It was gathered that in order to have a unified house, the Prince Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee (NWC) brought together all the contending factions with a view to having a win-win situation.

The source said, “Kwankwaso told the gathering that any move to remove any member of Kwankwasiyya from the aspirants list will lead to his defection from PDP.

“However, the Doguwa-led faction also threatened to dump the party if the leadership failed to review the list of aspirants.

The meeting ended in a deadlock…Neither Kwankwaso nor Doguwa faction agreed to accept the terms offered by the leadership of the party,” the source said.

According to him, the leadership of the party in its effort to reconcile the aggrieved members, resolved that the national and state assemblies slots be shared 50-50 between the Kwankwaso and Doguwa factions of the party.

He added that when the meeting reached its peak with no sign of success, the party’s presidential flag bearer and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, sent a former minister of Aviation, Mr Osita Benjamin Chidoka, to intervene on his behalf.

He, however, said the former minister also failed to reconcile the contending factions and the meeting ended without yielding any positive result.

Asked to comment on development, the Public Relations Officer of Doguwa faction of the PDP, Alhaji Musa Danbirni, said he was not aware of the said meeting. “I am not among the people that went to Abuja because I fell sick and I am still at home. So I don’t know what exactly transpired in Abuja.”

The spokesman of Kwankwaso faction of the party, Jamilu Dambatta could not be reached for comment at the time of filing this report. On her part, Kwankwaso’s spokesperson, Hajiya Binta Spikin said she was not in Abuja. “It will be wrong for me to talk about party matters; the people that should talk on this are party officials,” she said.

Contacted, a strong pillar of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Aminu Abdulsalam, said he was not aware of the meeting.

Abdulsalam said, “The party’s chairmen, secretaries and other stakeholders were taken to Abuja by a different group with the sole aim of conducting a fresh primary election but to be honest with, the National Vice Chairman (North) told them that he has no mandate to do so.

“He told them it is beyond his powers to hold a meeting with them and he asked them to go back to Kano and await further instruction from the party’s national leadership. That is all I know about this issue,” he said.

And to the guy at FTC with selective amnesia: have you consciously forgotten that Atiku decamped severally after losing several primaries or when he saw his chances of being the flagbearer as dim? What's even worse is he condemned the PDP on National TV when he decamped to the ACN and this was aired severally by the AIT courtesy of High Cheif Raymond Dokpesi - as he likes to be called.

And you all saying he should leave, even your Atiku knows his electoral value and would do everything to keep him that's why he can threaten to leave unlike a politically and electorally useless loudmouth like Fayose.

Let's be frank, he can't win kano for himself Talkless of delivering the state to atiku, he has followers but with buhari he is not a match.. Though he is highly needed.. He is VERY important to atiku presidential aspiration

I think, in the entire 19 northern states,Atiku can only win Taraba, plateau,Benue and probably Kogi and fct with marginal votes.
U can be sure that NW votes alone is equivalent to the entire SS and SE votes.
The battle ground for Atiku is SW of which the fire power from him and afenifere will be neutralized by Tinibu and the south west APC sheriffs...Well I think the margin of win by APC may not be more than 25%

The main problem this man called Kwankwaso has is greediness. He is too greedy. No wonder many people vote against him on the PDP primary in PH.

In politics there is nobody that can't be in the same party. Its all about interests. Kwakwanso knows atiku doesn't stand a chance against buhari. No northerner will choose atiku over buhari, and what's more tinubu already has the SW on lockdown.
story... tinubu has SW on lockdown yet he needed inec manipulation and sdp alliance to retain Osun state for his very own cousin. SW is 50:50 thanks to Buhari's induced hunger that reset people's brain making them wiser unlike 2014.

U still don't get it do u? If someone told u last year that akpabio will be in APC this year, will u have believed How about uduaghan Lol. Wake up. There are no permanent friends or permanent enemies in politics. Just permanent interests. All they are looking for is power and resource control. Fullstop

Well my friend you are the one that is not getting it, if you had your ear on the ground you would have heard around september , 2015 or there about when it was rumoured that Akpabio would join the APC after huge sums of money was found in its possession, it has been long coming that was why he was not vocal as minority leader. They are looking for power and resource control, yes! But I am telling you that the entry of one marks the exit of the other, if you know politics as much as you claim you would have noticed. There are some rivalries that cannot be resolved until a couple of generations, just like the rivalry between Gowon and Ojukwu. it is what it is.

Whether he leaves or not, buhari will always win kano and the north west massively.his main interest is to win senate seat and remove ganduje not atiku.his supporters can only vote if he was contesting.even kwankwaso is comfortable with buhari than atiku.atiku may only end up winning ss/se

Your honesty is refreshing, minus voters inducement, we all know Atiku on his own cannot move people that are outside of Iboland .... SS don't care that much...

Someone claimed PDP will get 45% of Ekiti, the person will be shocked when Fayemi effectively blocks that like he did Fayose & his stooge...

As deep as Atikus pocket is, he can only buy so much before throwing in the towel& unlike small elections, Law enforcement won't allow his agents that much leeway.... Many people will make money from Atiku.

If Kwankwaso leaves, that will be a deadly blow to PDP's chances. However, he
should not use his singular influence to hold all other PDP members to ransom.
They should quickly find creative ways to placate him and also ask him to allow
for fairness in the affairs of Kano PDP. The other faction is also important.
