A former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala picked the gubernatorial form of Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Oyo state, having being overlooked by the APC in Oyo State. There are people both outside and within the state clamoring for his return whilst some people wonder what he is looking for in Agodi again. This writer lists out various achievements of the former governor during his first term.

OF MANY REASONS AKALA DESERVES BEING RE-ELECTED (SYNOPSIS)

*He knew people's opinion adds value to governance hence put in place 'EPADE GOMINA'

*He saw a need in developing the less cities and put in place College of Agric in Igbo-Ora.

*He saw cleanliness a must in the society and purchased compactors which today are still the major tools for environmental success.

*His value for education got us the second place in the nation wide assessment of UBEC in 2009.

*He saw need in improving the Health sector and put Adeoyo Hospital in shape with prompt distribution of drugs to every state owned hospitals and clinics.

*His value for the masses made him people friendly as his doors are never shut to receive people.

*The disabled to him deserves a better life and a good sense of belonging hence created a link to see to their needs through an agency headed by Barrister Adekanbi.

*His urge to lead by example made him administer the state with no debt and yet left behind N3.8bn in the state coffers.

*His approach to poverty alleviation gave birth to CLAP(Community Link Advancement Programme)headed by Chief Mrs. Kemi-Akala.

*His love for empowering people aided his distribution of taxis & buses to the transporters.

*In his bid to boost the state economy Erunmu inland port was put in place.

*He saw a need to add value to education hence ensured scholarships came to being with prompt payment of bursary to the tertiary institutions students.

*His urge to raise the state owned university to a world class led to building of Lautech Teaching of Hospital & college of Health science by which medical science in the said school became relevant and accredited.

*His love for people's safety led to purchase of Armoured Personnel Carriers and other security needs.

*Rural electrification in his time was a huge success as virtually everywhere got a transformer.

*His grassroot experience aided in constructing roads throughout the whole state.

*His regime met IGR at N300m and was able to raise it to N1bn within 8months in office without putting the masses in unnecessary danger.

*Artisans and even the common man witnessed a life of no hunger and starvation because he ensured money went in circulation.

*He saw compensation important where any structure is damaged hence paid St. Peters Catholic sum of N12m for a part of their structures affected during a road expansion in Ibadan.

*His love for historic values got his hand touch Mapo & Atiba Hall both of which serve a great value in Nigeria and the South-west.

*His listening ears accords him a crowd of people at every point in time.

*When he saw a need to lead the way of the great Awo he built a new House of Assembly complex which today is still in use.

*His administration saw values in the state workers and thus promoted 12 Directors already due for promotion to Perm. Secs

*He built for the purpose of record the Mediation Centre at the Ministry of Justice.

*because in his time got the new equipments which today are much in use.

*He purchased buses for the school of Nursing, built structures round the state institutions even in the primaries.

*He equipped the state fire services to a suitable taste which today still speaks in their fight against fire outbreak.

*Trainings even outside the country were not denied the state workers during his tenure.

*His contributions to the religion till date still endears him respect and befitting sobriquets from both Islamic and Christianity world.

*He embraces the downtrodden and ensures that no day passes away without gladden a heart.

*He is never disconnected from the people whether home/at abroad.

*Created Ajilete and Oke Ogun Fms stations and financed it.

Akala has goof intention which makes him built LAUTECH teaching hospital for the use of medical Lautech student. Oyinlola built Osun state university so that Osun & Oyo can part ways as regard joint ownership of Lautech to put an end to crises which always leads to strike. Ajimobi Isiaka never spent a kobo to renovate Lautech hospital, go to your Oyo town to see another one built there by same Akala but abandoned by Ajimobi Isiaka administration.

It is easy for us to bullshit these people whereas majority of us are not ready to come in the ring...shameful. Experience of Oyo state people is quite different under Alao Akala compare to his successor. Moreover if you want to know this drive through every town and villages in the state and sample their opinion.
