The govt recognise an entity as dead only when they have the data fully registered with Natinal Population board. They will issue the entities family a death certificate. That is what is admissible in court and elsewhere. The hospital death certificate is not admissible but is the first step to geting the final death certificate.
So even if the govt knows they are not obliged to remove his name since there is no legal doc backing his death.
If the family had done the right thing, his name wiuldnt have featured

Sir, without joining all these online rants on these dead issue, I believe ur assertion is wrong sir.
firstly whether someone's dad is dead or alive u cannot claim his money in the bank,
the bank only recognizes the owner/signatories of the account.
in fact it is when the person is dead that u have the right (after following the required process) to claim the money.
when people die, the death is reported either in dailies or over the media,
it is then the duty of the institution in charge to put such information in the data base for government use (in saner climes).
