The five victims of the Leicester helicopter crash have been named including billionaire owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, his assistant, a Thai beauty queen, the co-pilot and hero pilot Eric Swaffer who steered the stricken aircraft away from football fans on the ground. Izabela Lechowicz and boyfriend Eric Swaffer pictured in the cockpit. The club issued a statement late this evening confirming Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and four others were killed when the aircraft fell from the sky and burst into flames. 1 Like

Eric Swaffer, 53 (pictured with Dalai Lama) was the Srivaddhanaprabha family's pilot and died in the crash. His partner Izabela Lechowicz, 46, was also a regular flyer from the family. She also died. 2 Likes

May God grant the family the fortitude to bear this great loss. Helicopter mishap is one of aviation accidents people seldom survive. The moment the copter starts spinning and wobbling, that's the end. The impact on the ground is so catastrophic that the chances of survival is little to none. Beauty Queen Nusara Suknamai was one of the members of staff who tragically perished on board. Leicestershire Police confirmed the other four people on board the helicopter were two members of staff Nursara Suknamai, Kaveporn Punpare and also pilot Eric Swaffer and Izabela Roza Lechowicz. 4 Likes

Pilot Eric Swaffer is believed to have saved the lives of hundreds of fans by steering the doomed aircraft away from vulnerable fans on the ground. It avoided busy roads and the last of the 31,000 fans who were still in the area along with dozens of police officers. The doomed Leicester City helicopter pilot may have been become stuck in a ‘dead man’s curve’ after the aircraft’s tail rotor failed, experts suggested last night The scene of the crash has been sealed off by police officers with a sheet covering one end of the helicopter in the stadium's car park. The owner's family often watch the football games together. The London home of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was empty today while shocked neighbours waited for news of whether or not he was in the helicopter which crashed. 2 Likes

Burnley and Chelsea players took part in a moment's silence ahead of their Premier League fixture at Turf Moor on Sunday. Manchester United players and their mascot also stood in silence before their game against Everton on Sunday afternoon. Leicester City chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha walks to his helicopter which has landed on the pitch after the game against Southampton in April 2016. This is a very sad news, my heart is broken. I wish the families well and my condolence to the family and fans. The pilot died a hero because the helicopter would had crash landed at where thousands of fans are, but the pilot tried his best and made the helicopter to crash in a safe area. By this singular act, i hope GOD forgives him of all his sins and accept his soul into heaven and that of the others. 90 Likes |

Thank heavens that his daughter was not on board as reported before. My condolence to the family once more and the daughter especially. I know how close a daughter is to her father. just like the son to his mother.
