Present Nigerian government is so predictable when they want to be insensitive and dodgy so expect such headlines after the proposed NLC strike commences.
1. Labour strike illegal- FG (they will cite NIC injunction stopping labour from going on strike but will be silent on Buhari's continued disobedience of court orders on El-Zakzaky, Dasuki and others.

2. Minimum wage: Labour not willing to negotiate- Ngige (as if they have not been negotiating since November last year till now).

3. IG issues arrest warrant for NLC boss as Labour strike enters 4th week ( refer to no.1).

4. Labour Strike: FG orders Perm Secs to open attendance register at Federal Ministries/parastatals.

5. No work no pay policy is in place, FG reminds Labour. We are undaunted- NLC

6. FG shifts ground, offers N28,000 to workers. "We can't pay"-Governors Forum. "N30,000 or nothing"-NLC.

7. "Return to duty post or be sacked"-FG threatens NLC, ASUU.

This is the kind of country we find ourselves!

TGM2015:
Needless strike, work with government to reduce cost of living.
Enhance the productivity of your members (labour) to help their employers (government) increase revenue. Last year budget, total actual income earned by the government is at average of 35% and you are here asking for increase in pay while they are not increasing the revenue generated.

Another angle is, by the current financial capacity of various levels of government, do they have capacity to pay up to N30k? Or the Labour expect the government to borrow or steal to pay their workers? In a typical business world, employers determined the pay of her employees and employees fight for increment when they have sufficient evidenced that their services has increased the profitability and market share of the business they worked for. These information are always reflected in the books of account of the employers and their audited report.

While we advocate for reduction in cost of governance and political officers, and also considering the current minimum wage is too low compare to higher cost of living, our current (public) labour force is not qualified for increase in wages. Firstly, MAJORITY are productive, committed and diligent in their assigned responsibilities. Secondly, they have not been meaningfully and consistently contribute to the "bottom line" (income generation) of the government. Thirdly, majority of them have "bastardized" and "corruptionized" the services they rendered and were employed to do.... Please if these set of people worked for serious minded private organisations or work in our owned established organisation, are we likely to support increase in the their wages or promoting such group of workforce?

However, while is NLC tagging it NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE when they know they are have no interest in enforcing it on private institutions, organisations and businesses?

APC supporter, what was your stance when they were striking against theast govt? You hailed them and called them patriots. Now they are not productive and useful. You guys should try and stick to something nah. The APC was hailing them and urging them to resist the last govt while in the opposition. They did this when inflation was at a single digit, Cost of living was relatively low. Now this bunch of marauders has turned the country upside down, everything has skyrocketed, but they want thesame workers to remain silent. Fear God o.
