The Sango statue in front of the NEPA (PHCN) office on Marina Lagos (is it still there?) is one of my favorite statues ever. It's big, black and inspiring. That one and the horses at Racecourse dominated my imagination as a kid. I too wish we preserved and transformed more of our culture, instead of allowing foreign ones to subsume everything.
