Go and ask Lucky Igbinedion the calamity that befall him when he refuse to give Omo n' Oba N' Edo, Ukù Akpolorkpolor Oba Erediauwà his complete entitlement.

None of the ugly governors Edo state is blessed with can try that. "Oba na Oba"

Now let me explain better to you the governor of a state is an elected body by all members of that state the oba of a state is a selected body by the king maker there is no way a selected body will be higher than an elected body

That is why during the coronation of oba the governor of that state present the staff of authority to yoruba so a situation whereby a governor can present staff of authority to the oba of a land such a governor have right to withdraw salt staff of authority

It is in the constitution that a situation whereby the oba of the land is causing havoc causing commotion causing catastrophe to a particular state such a governor have a right to withdraw staff of authority and dethrone the oba

You can't expect a person that was selected by the king's maker we higher than somebody that was placed by the masses but the governor would do no such thing because of respect for tradition

You are very ill informed. You seem to confuse Benin Kingdom with your Yoruba fake kingdoms.
First of all there are no kingmakers in Benin Kingdom. Second of all, you don't seem to understand the origin of the Obaship of Benin. Long before the creation (through ways of Maxim guns and cannons) of Nigeria, there was a country named Benin Kingdom and Benin City was it's capital. That country's land comprised almost the entire south of what we now call Nigeria and that country had parts of Nigeria's middle belt and it had lands outside of nigeria's borders up to Ghana. That country was ruled by a king under the title Oba. The Kingship in that country obeyed the laws of primogeniture. That is Benin Kingdom. In 1897, When Benin Kingdom lost a war to the British, the Brits tried to replace the Oba with a commoner (incidentally, the grand father of the current governor of Edo state) and the people of Benin were ready for war to prevent such a calamity. So the attempt failed. The Oba of Benin is a King, a real King. He has no superior. This is not like your Yoruba fake Obas who by the way stole the title from the original Oba: Omo n'Oba n'Edo. Try and educate yourself on topics before debating them.

You are a slowpoke who doesn't know the meaning of the word King. Is aueen Elizabeth inferior to the prime minister of England ? Stop confusing everything, I know you Yoruba have a special kind of Kingship in which a guy could just be crowned by a governor while his dad is still alive and while he has no link to the previous "king". Your thrones are fake, that is why you have several "Kings" for the same Yoruba kingdom/ village .

All this one Na story. Nigeria is a Republic. A constitutional Republic. Not a monarchy of any sort.

By our laws, our Constitution, the governors have the power to entrone and dethrone traditional rulers. Not exactly directly, but indirectly.

The Oba of Benin may be a highly respected traditional stool, but it is still subject to political authority. Traditional customs DO NOT supercede the Constitution. That's the simple truth.

so long as queen of England is not inferior to prime minister of England...you can say "republic" all you want and you can write as many constitutions as you want, you just can't change facts. The Oba of Benin is one of the Kings who signed Nigeria into existence alongside the sultan of sokoto, the alafin of Oyo, the obong of Calabar and the emir of Kano. Fact will always remain fact. And in case you are unaware, the current Constitution recognized the Previous Kings Of just talked about. I can see how it hurts you, so please go hug a transformer.
