[size=28pt]Yoruba in Jos are peace-loving[/size]


GOVERNOR Jonah Jang has described the Yoruba living in Plateau State as peace-loving settlers who had never fomented trouble in the history of the state.

Jang, in a statement, urged them to continue to uphold the remarkable records with the spirit of tolerance, good neighbourliness, respect for other cultures and love for their host communities, stressing that these virtues promote peace and tranquillity.
The governor also lauded the Yoruba resident in Plateau for their contributions to the economic development of the state through commerce and industry-related activities.

He charged other ethnic groups in the state to emulate the Yoruba in these regards.

Jang also refuted allegations that his administration was operating a government of exclusion and selfish agenda by leaving out non-indigenes from government posts.

He assured that his administration would continue to run an all-inclusive government, urging the Yoruba and other ethnic groups in the state to shun alleged “political propaganda” of his detractors who want to destroy the good programmes of the administration as part of their strategies towards the 2011 general elections.
