Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, during a courtesy call on Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State today, at the Government House, commended his commitment towards the development of science, technology and innovation in the country for sustainable economic growth.

The Minister disclosed that Ugwuanyi is the first governor in the country to host the Technology and Innovation EXPO - a week long event holding in Enugu on new business opportunities for economic expansion, job creation and poverty reduction.

Dr. Onu also appreciated the governor for his "tremendous support and cooperation towards the hosting of the event in Enugu", saying that the choice of Enugu was made because of its historic importance as the capital of the Eastern Region, East Central State, old Anambra State, Enugu State and the new Enugu State.
