Why Atiku's American visit is considered important is that it should have laid to rest the allegation that he is so corrupt that he cannot visit a country as important as the US which would spell doom for Nigeria's diplomatic status with Atiku as President. Nigerians are often so desperate for a change that they often walk open-eyed into fire (remember the Sai Baba fever of 2015 and how fast it died down even in the North).
