Generally, most Northerners and Yorubas regard Ojukwu as someone who led Igbos in war and ran away when the chips were down.

What they never seem to realise is that Ojukwu fought a war to liberate his people from bondage. One of the most honourable things any man can do for his people is to fight for their freedom.

Ojukwu may not have succeeded, but he gave it his best. There are no guarantees in life, you just do your best and leave the rest to God.

That's why these people keep saying Ojukwu ran away, what did they expect Ojukwu to do? They expected Ojukwu to deliver him self to his enemies to be slaughtered?
