Nigeria is heading for a fall, politics is the way to achieve it on time, Politicians in Nigeria will never gather together to brainstorm how to better the life of their citizens to on how to seize and hold on to power.Millions of youths are jobless they will soon take hold to crime for survival......Nigeria is heading for a fall

The greatest cities in the world usually have a heterogenous population of people. Yorubas alone couldn't have made Lagos what it is today. Even the massive population of Lagos which gives it one of its bragging rights is contributed to a large extent by Igbos and all other Nigerians. Much of the amenities Lagos enjoys were built to service all Nigerians.
Stop thinking like a 17th Century African. Think like a 21st Century human living in a modern world.
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan is Pakistani - British man. Obama is a Kenyan American. These are the realities of the modern world.
Igbos shouldn't only be good for paying taxes in Lagos. They should be able to live and work comfortably in any sector in Lagos too. Some of them were born and raised there while some of you that make noise on social media have never lived in Lagos for even a month. You're not more Lagos than they are.

God bless you brother. That's what I say to fellow Omoluabi brothers. Lagos historically may belong to the Yorubas but since the birth of Nigeria, Lagos has witnessed significant economic growth due to the cosmopolitan nature of the city. Lagos is witnessing steady progress because people from all over Nigeria are migrating to Lagos to either create opportunities or seek opportunities.
That's the same trend for great cities llke New York, London, Paris, Dubai their cosmopolitan look makes it an economic success.

It's self evident it would fail. It would be a hit in an Almajiri system north.

I recall Tinubu as governor. He appointed Igbos to his cabinet. Ben Akabueze who does national planing for Buhari, once did same for Lagos.

Tinubu had a spelling competition for young lads. Whoever won, was made governor for Lagos for a day. As in Tinubu literally vacated Alausa for the champ. He or she would travel with DSS escorts in Tinubus armoured jeep and wear his trademark cap, and seat on his seat. I recall, a certain Ebuka was the first beneficiary of this gesture. You need to see how Tinubu and his wife feted that boy. I was jealous.

Say what you like about Tinubu and Lagos, I've never witnessed large scale discrimination against Igbos.

Go to Lagos inland revenue service, you'd see Igbos working there. Are there no better educated Yorubas? Yet, Igbos are given some consideration.

I witnessed same in Ogun state.

Maybe, it's all these things that will make someone begin to imagine that Lagos is no man's land.

Lagos must Be protected
Yorubas are the architects of whatever rubbish the Igbos in Lagos say about them. Imagine, how can you employ foreigners to work in your civil service when you have thousands of unemployed SWners? How many non-Igbos will u find in SE state civil service? Zero! You keep playing the big brother role to ingrates at the detriment of your own people. To the extent of even granting them representation in the House of Assembly. Una mumu never do!

No. But here on Nairaland, it's extremely rare to come across an Igbo who doesn't hate Awolowo. Y'all hate him so much that you teach your kids that he committed suicide via rat poison.

They have as much right as you to seek opportunities in civil service. No law disenfranchises them, you can only argue for a qouta of the slots available be given to original indigenes.
When Rivers or Anambra Government opens their portals for recruitment you can go apply, there's no law that will sideline you.

It was war time and his masterstroke saved money and ended the war. When you study the history of the Yoruba's you just have to show your respects. That such could be successfully hijacked by con men and reduced to amala and gbegiri politics is unacceptable. The Yoruba's in the true scheme of things should be demanding a breakaway from this current setup cos it holds them back from what they truly represent.

You have some points. But the day Sadiq Khan tells UK London is a no man's land or Obama and his people shows disdain for there host that's the very moment they start to loose right and opportunities that should naturally accord to them. You don't show disgust and hatred for your host the way an average Igbo man does and expect them to continue to treat you with fairness. Instead of building bridges an average Igbo is blinded with ego and sentiments.

Typical Ipob. Hatred, evil and bitterness oozes out of their pores.

I'm always surprised how they are quick to attack tinubu while they leave thier land run to the same Lagos to do business and live a comfortable life that they can't get in thier states as if they don't have leaders over there that have continue to mortgage the future of thier generation.

the truth is that he is not a self centered man, to the least member in APC Lagos is benefiting, and best believe that this attitude of his will make APC last long in Lagos .

They openly show thier bitter hatered for Yorubas yet want to be in a position to make laws and decisions that will affect the Yorubas in thier land while they won't even want to hear a Yoruba man nurture the idea in thier land.

Have you ever heard any Yoruba man complain about Tinubu's dominance? Forget the omo ales that pitched tent with the PDP. Tinubu is not perfect, he is human just like you and I and he uses the resources he alledgely amassed to weild the power he currently holds and interestingly it's for the good of the Yoruba race. How many riiff raffs has he given to Lagosians as Governors? See what he did to Ambode when he began messing up the Lagos blueprint....We love our Igbo brothers but they should take a chill pill with our Leader, we are ok with him. Whether anyone likes it or not, he has come to stay and he is going nowhere. Ask yourself if the leaders of other tribes are clean and saints.
