According to a resident of the street, no one was trapped because the building was marked for demolition and occupants had vacated.

What is terrific about the afternoon? Ever since the collapse involving those school children, buildings esp in lagos island have been marked for demolition and the act/process is being carried out. Why una dey portray say the thing collapse by hinself Why?

We have originally rods n cement in the market . The problem is with our builders, mostly engineers n house owners. Lagos is more of swamp, high building should have drilled pillars not just digging the normal 4ft foundation.

Most residents of Lagos island I don't know what they really enjoy in their houses. No compound, no car parks, no reasonable space for you to spread/dry your clothes, no proper house spacing and ventilation. Apart from doing business there, it's a no no for me to reside.

What do you gain by spreading false rumors.... The building didn't collapse on its own as the OP is claiming. The building was demolished by the Lagos state government. LSNC and police are around to ensure the job is being carried out. Can't you all see the scene is calm and organized unlike the original school building's own? Have been hanging around there for more than 4hrs now.... It's a demolition and not a building collapse

It's actually a systemic thing. Once you have a working, efficient and effective system everything will be good.
Those in charge of regulations, compliance and the process owners in the building industry are all to be blamed for these unfortunate occurrences.

This is not as a result of foundation. A building constructed to standard with poor foundation type may only crack or sink, not outright collapse
