Kwara State Governor Bukola Saraki - will today declare his intention to run for the presidency in the 2011 general elections.

A statement signed by his media aide, Alhaji Ma’ud Adebimpe, said posters, banners and bill boards were ready for the take-off of the campaigns. A source close to government in Ilorin, who spoke to our correspondent, said all logistics have been provided to ensure the success of the event.

I would have thought being the Chairman of both the Northern Governors Forum and National Governors forum he would have made his views, plans and desires known to some of his colleagues who would in turn give him an undeniable loyalty. At this stage of the competition he should be toting up his numbers, breaking into that uncharted territory of having 15 to 18 Governors who would vouch and vote him.

I still think the confidence ensuing from this Gentleman has a familiar clandestine pattern, the treachery which would unfold in the days and weeks to come shall surprise a lot of Nigerians, it would surpass and overwhelm celebrated treachery cases like those of Judas and Brutus. We have to remember there are no permanent friends in politics but permanent interest

We have to remember also that the primaries if I am not mistaking would be a secret ballot system and anything can happen when a man cast his vote and put it into an envelope out of view of his fellow next man.

OBJ’s 3rd term should serve as a reminder, despites giving all the members of the house of Reps and Senate N50 million each he still failed.

Most of those cruel lying politicians promising Jonathan heaven and Earth, Jonathan should take such promises with a caution. Men are evil and they would definitely manifest themselves in this election.

This is good news. The more the northern candidates, the better for GEJ. They will split the northern votes at the primaries. Or could this be another GEJ strategy? All good.

I tire oooooo.

However, I think did is just a strategy. It is either he will back out at the last minute and support his God Father, IBB or He is looking for favour from anyone that emerges as the president. Don't forget, he will be in the record that he had contested for Nigeria Presidency and that alone might put him in another level higher than other outgoing governor that never showed interest and b4 we know it, he will be nominated as minister.

No body knows o. I guess all of them will be contesting on imaginary platforms.

No, that is not how it is. Politics is all about calculation. This is it. Many of them don't dream about ruling the nation. Their intention is to merely declare their political ambition while in the end they step dpwm for a popular candidate. If the popular candidate happens to win, the politicians that step down will then solicit for slots in the executive cabinet. That is how they do it. They tell the winner "remember i gave you my support by letting go of my ambition, so, this is what i want in return, "

komando.:

Saraki is Fulani, so you now have him as the second Fulani candidate after Buhari.
The core north never see people from North Central as Hausa/Fulani. As far as they are concerned, he is not representing the North. Forget about theories, the Hausa/Fulani dynasty and or hegemony is so rigid to the extent that if you are outside the core Northern states, they label you as part of northern minority tribes and not a part of Hausa/Fulani dynasty.

I like ur analysis however the mere thought of this guy with his family's brand of amala/tuwo politics ever getting into nigeria's executive council, leaves me covered in goosepimples. His ilk should left confined to his locale. if kwarans are too timid to get rid of him and his parasitic familt, that's their palava but he should not ventured to come to the cenytre. That family's longthroat ranks in the top indexes among nigeria's  major kleptocrats.

Some people just criticize any candidate that comes, yet we condemn old politicians that does not want to leave office. I am not in support of any1 except a credible candidate and honest 1. But it would be hard for GEJ cos the latest breaking news is other aspirants in PDP (IBB, ATIKU, SARAKI, e.tc) are working to present a 1 aspirant against GEJ, and that would be tight for oga GEJ but with support of OBJ he may sail thru.

Obj is overrated. There is no way Obj+GEJ can defeat those people if they come together.
