I salute the courage, tenacity of purpose & the foresight of Lagos APC leaders. The best is for Ambode to do only one term and the leadership made this possible. Elders must not allow the town to be destroyed or get bad.

Development is concentrated in Lekki / Ajah area being a peninsula. Apapa /Mile 2 / Badagry / Seme axis with Atlantic Ocean and international road network to African countries with major markets serving several African countries are neglected for four years. I pass this road often. I was aware of the design of roads from Abidjan to Lagos and the proposed Senegal - Gambia - Lagos road. Presently, after four years of neglect, this road has become an eyesore. Just after Alakija to trade fair, barracks to LASU is another calamity. I believe about $50 million being wasted at Oshodi would have taken this road to Ijanikin or Agbara.

The environmental sanitation system that was built gradually for 16 years cannot just be replaced overnight in a city with population in excess of 20 million and daily immigrants of hundreds of thousands. Despite several good jobs Ambode did, the people of mile 2 / Badagry roads cannot endure another 4 years of neglect. Vision Scope has failed and the waste management system has collapsed. The state cannot endure another 4 years of waste management system collapse. Even as it is. It will take the new government some years to rebuild the waste management system.

There are several uncompleted projects. I wish Babajide Sanwo - Olu well.

Your steps above presuppose that; a) Ambode will use any position given him in Abuja to fight Lagos, b) can build grassroot followership in Lagos from faraway Abuja. Same thing he couldn't do while the governor of Lagos, c) that Igbo Lagosians are all PDP and that they are all interested in the downfall of the APC and Tinubu, d) that there is still anything called PDP in Lagos.

Ambode will do well to look around Lagos to see how the likes of Obanikoro, Ogunlewe, Pedro etc tried same moves above and faded eventually. He has a future in APC from what one can analyse from current events. He may be at loggerheads with Tinubu today but he is smart enough to know that they don't need to be permanent enemies.
