Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has appointed Mrs. Ololade Agboola as the new Head of Service.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the governor announced this appointment at the State Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday in Ibadan.

Agboola, a former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and Sports, would replace Mrs. Hannah Ogunesan, who had resigned from the state civil service.

The new HOS, who hails from Ibadan, is the wife of a former Senate Deputy Chief Whip, Hosea Agboola, popularly known as ‘Halleluyah.’

Everyone speaking against Gov. Seyi Makinde (GSM). Can you just think deep and beyond politics. The former governor had luxury of time to appoint PS, contract projects, etc, then, if not for evil agenda, why did he do that at die minute. And who told you that those he appointed didn't know that they would be sent back.

Thank you, my brother. Many of them speaking against the reversal of those appointment are just being sentimental. Why would a Governor that spent 8 good years in office decide to appoint 15 permanent secretaries in his last one week or so? Not only that, Ajimobi who wouldn't want to listing to anything 'employment' except for the TESCOM appointments he did in the build up to 2015 elections, gave out employment letters to many people in the last days to the end of his tenure. Those are landmines planted for incoming government. But thank goodness, Makinde is wise enough to detect all these. He's promised to also look into cases of civil servants dismissed by the immediate past government to see those who were wrongly disengaged and reabsorb them into the service.
Many of us living in the state saw all of these coming and we are with him 100% in the decisions he has taken so far.

You are right but you must also know that you need to find friends to join friends and not enemies to join enemies in order to succeed. Oyo politics is dangerous one, do you know that Ajumobi is only governor ever that get second term in that state.

The appointments were made in a hurry. Maybe GSM feels that the appointees can not drive his economy plans for the state.

Very simple politics. The best time to do all those changes is now. He'll get the dust settled in one year with people's oriented programs and the love will be unlimited.
NURTW ban will draw all commercial drivers to him, Ajimobi's LG and LCDA chairmen will be replace with the most popular candidates from those areas.

What Nigeria lacks is a functional system; a system that all executives and parastatals must toe. The office will end up controlling the occupants instead of the reverse. The same system that will not allow Ajimobi to mischievously appoint at the dying minutes, should not allow Makinde to reverse appointments made by the previous administration.
