Mention one food that is common to every tribe in Nigeria. I wanted to say egusi but Gwari people do not eat egusi. Can you think of any food that is common to every Nigerian tribe?

Fulanis do not eat garri.
Ogonis do not eat beans
Rice is foreign to Nigeria. Many people from older generation do not eat rice because they don't know what it is.

Who says fulanis don't eat rice? Rice prepared in any form is still rice, you know. And i'm sure fulanis eat tuwo. Besides, oyinbos know every food we eat in Naija, and even their botanical names, irrespective of how we prepare them. So, we can't exactly tell which food is african jor.

Re: Name The Most Common Food In Nigeria by IbrahimB: 2:01am On Nov 04, 2010
Okay, Aloy, we give up! What's the answer to your "riddle"? Is it water, lol!

Even if rice is foreign, it's now a nigerian food. There was a time when the English would sooner kick a potato than eat it. So we can't just reject answers simply because they're not native to Nigeria. I think "Rice and Stew" is the most common method of preparing rice in the country.
