It's not like much energy or money were spent on producing this healthy food. Junk food tend to have more killing ingredients. But why are they more cheaper? For instance:

A bottle of Eva water is sold for 100#. 50CL coke is sold for 70#, but why? (note, water is natural, not much production is needed except purification)

At a regular "bukka", vegetable soup is expensive than egusi but egusi is more expensive in the market.

Meat is cheaper than fish.

Wheat bread is expensive than white bread.

Ofada rice is also expensive than "normal" rice. (cooked).

location is also a key factor. l live in nairobi where wheat and white bread go for the same price. l buy a 400g of wheatbread for N80 it is same price with the white bread. Back in Lagos as @ 2012, l used to buy wheatbread of d same weight @ N150!

People need to see more value for their money... the ingredients are actually not useful!

BedLam: Coke and bottle water, which is cheaper in Nairobi?
it depends on the brand of bottled water just like we have in Nigeria which has brands of bottled water & we have lots of them cheaper than Eva, so same qualifies here.

So you mean to tell me egusi, meat, white bread, ofada rice are all junk foods?

Go to a KFC restaurant and buy one of their pastries and you will know the lord is good all the time.

lt a blanket assumption to think so. Even in Lagos u can buy rich vegetables such as cabbage, carrots, cucumber etc @ a cheaper price at Mile 12 market. When u prepare & present them nicely, one will get the impression that it costs an arm & a leg!

I don't quite agree with u . I use only 1k to prepare a healthy meal that last me for a week. Let me break it down below

Half kilo of titus fish 300naira
Red oil. 30naira
Pepper. 30naira
Stock fish. 50naira
Achi igbo condement. 50naira
Crafish. 50naira
Iru. 20naira
Fufu. 200naira
Bitter leave from my garden
Magi. 20naira
Total. 750naira

When I serve you this meal u will leak ur hands and wish it never ended.

Compare to when I visit mr bigs I will spend more than 1k and it will finish immediately and as the name goes it doesn't boast ur immunity. If you don't want ebola to affect u kindly stick to the meal above and don't always wash away all the bitterness in biterleaf

Guy, u seem to talk good about Nai-robbery(Nairobi) of recent. Especially when it comes to Cheap things. For the house, would you mind telling us prospects about the country especially when it comes to Jobs for foreigners(nigerians). I have read a few about the countrys prospects but been that you are on the ground, what can you say about life in kenya as a Nigerian,Especially when it comes to jobs, studies n maybe investing there as some people would like to know. I am just curious as I just like to study countries around the world. Hope you reply.

@360command, as per job, not easy for foreigners except for exceptional skills. Most Nigerians here are into business as Nigerians (lgbos) control d hair extension/attachment biz here as they import weekly frm Lagos to Nairobi alongside spare parts.
