The Governor of Ebonyi state David Umahi has sworn in key functionaries of his administration with a charge to them to be committed to their assigned duties.

Among those who were sworn in were, Dr. Kenneth Ugballa who was sworn in as secretary to Ebonyi state government (SSG), Hon. Clement Nweke as Principal Secretary, Dr. Offor Okorie Emmanuel as Chief of Staff, Barrister Joseph Ekummanka as Senior Special Assitant to the governor Abuja liaison office, Barrister Cletus Nwokporo Ofoke as Attorney general, Mr Chinako Aniakor as Special Assistant to the governor on Security and Utility – Capital city, Mr. Benedict Nwovu Special Assistant to on Security and Utility – Ebonyi North zone, Mr. Nwoba Onyekachi Special Assistant on Security and Utility – Ebonyi Central zone, Mr Chika Nwangele Special Assistant on Security and Utility – Ebonyi South zone Barrister Sunday Nwankwo Special
Assistant to Deputy Governor’s Office Emmanuel Uzor as Chief Press Secretary

Umahi while reacting after the swearing congratulated all the appointees and asked them to work selflessly to the development of the state and not using public office for their personal gains

He made it clear that all his appointees in his second tenure are coming to work and not to enjoy selves but rather to intensify the ongoing fight against cultism in the state

He promised to carry all his Executive council members; both past and present along in all his policies and plans till the end of his Administration’s second tenure.

He also appealed to them not to complain of money as there is none at the moment.
He disclosed that the ministries’ over-heads have been brought down by fifty percent.

Governor Umahi further revealed that the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Ugballa will continue to be the acting commissioner for Internal Security and Boarder Peace because of the brilliant work he did in the ministry while he was occupying the position.

He emphasised that he will not entertain any excuse for failure in the course of discharging his duties.

Governor Umahi asked Ugballa to draw a list of people that will constitute his new TA’s and pronounced the abolishment of over heads for TA’s and from now they will work with their principal ministries.

In a separate development, Ebonyi state governor, David Umahi has reappointed his immediate past Chief Press secretary, Sir Emmanuel Uzor.
