A CURSORY LOOK AT THE POLITICAL FIGHT GOING ON IN NIGERIA SINCE INDEPENDENCE SUGGESTS THAT POLITICIANS RECOURSE TO ETHNIC CLEAVAGES AS A MEANS OF ACHIEVING THEIR AIMS.

IF THE CENTRE IS IS WEAKENED AND MORE POWER ALLOTTED TO FEDERATING UNITS , THE TUSSLE FOR THE CENTRE WILL DISAPPEAR BECAUSE IT BECOMES UNATTRACTIVE.THEN ANY ETHNIC GROUP THAT WANTS TO DISINTEGRATE CAN DO THAT AT THEIR EXPENSE.

A GROUP OF NIGERIANS JUST THREATENED 'IT'S EITHER THE NORTH OR DISASTER FOR 2011'

ETHNICITY IS A BANE TO NIGERIA POLITICS. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT FOR MANY NIGERIANS TO HAVE A THOROUGH EVALUATION OF CANDIDATES THAT SEEK POLITICAL OFFICES WITHOUT CONSIDERING THEIR ETHNIC ORIENTATION.

This has always been my position.

I believe that if we achieve this, the South South will immediately be the most prosperous.

However, because the North has enormous potentials that are yet to be harnessed based on over dependence on oil, the North will ultimately become the most prosperous or second most prosperous after the South West
