The supreme court is not empty. It presently has 15 judges and require just 6 more.

Some geopolitical zones are already fully represented in the current supreme court. The 6 more positions will be disributed in such a way that the full complement of the Supreme court, 21 Justices, will be equally distributed across the geopolitical zones.

The slots of the North is not complete at the Supreme court. So more of the nominees will be northerners.

But God pass all of dem
My friend, I belong to the PDP, I voted for all PDP candidates including our incoming president Atiku Abubakar.
My concern here is why would the opposition always bring Governance to a standstill because we aren't there?
What is wrong with filling the vacuum that exist in the apex court?
What if your brother is appointed one of benchers would you complain?,

While we await God's will to prevail we should also pray for the existing structure.

Go through the conditions for nomination again.
You are restricting it to just the justices of the appellate courts or men of the bench alone.
What about those on the bar?

Oga,theorerically lawyers can also be appointed but for many years it hasn't happened.by practice and conventions, supreme court judges are nominated from the appeal court.
Around 2016,they were moves to expand the nomination to include lawyers but this didnt succeed.even the last two supreme court judges buhari appointed bage and augie were from the appeal court.perhaps the post is misleading because njc has to nominate to buhari to appoint and also the senate must aporove..

Thanks. I am just hinting that the equality, recognition and reality of the Zones should be considered in the Justices selection, appointment, retirement and replacement.
