President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with Afenifere chairman, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, whose daughter, Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, was killed by suspected herdsmen.


On Friday, it was reported that Mrs Funke Olakunrin, a 58-year-old woman heading to Ore Junction from Akure, Ondo State, when she was attacked and shot by the herdsmen.


Femi Joseph, the Ondo Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), had earlier confirmed the killing, saying the suspects were herdsmen who also engaged in armed robbery.


He said the herdsmen attacked three vehicles, including a luxurious bus belonging to the Young Shall Grow Motors, adding that the passengers in the luxurious bus were travelling from Imo State to Lagos.


Joseph added that Mrs Olakunrin was the only one killed in the incident.


Olakunrin is the second child of 94-year-old Fasoranti to die. The elder statesman had also lost a daughter, Bunmi, some years ago, Fox Meek reports.


Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, in a message posted on his Twitter page, said President Buhari “prays God to give Pa Fasoranti fortitude to bear the loss.”


He wrote; “President Muhammadu Buhari condoles with Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, whose daughter, Mrs Funke Olakunrin was killed along Ondo-Ore road by those described as armed robbers by Ondo Police Command. He prays God to give Pa Fasoranti fortitude to bear the loss.”

Painfully, Gen. Mohomodu Buhary who claimed to be a former military head of state could not proffer solution to the increasing bloodletting across Nigeria. This is a shame!

Buhary & APC promised increased security, they promised CHANGE but later denied it. They thereafter promised NEXT LEVEL. Now, we can see how the life of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin was cut short just in the beginning of the painful NEXT LEVEL.

The pains of Nigeria is now getting louder and the international community should come to Nigerians rescue.


The Ruga or cattle colony is not here yet and we have already high numbers of cold blood killings. You can imagine when the colony/Ruga is eventually implemented.

The insecurity in this country has really reached another level. People are now afraid to travel by road because of kidnapping. Even if you have the money to pay for flight, there are places you just have to travel to by road. If the truth must be told, PMB is a huge disappointment in the area of security and fight against corruption.
