Governor Ihedioha on Thursday accused his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha of “massive looting" and leaving Imo state with over N100 billion debt through corruption and mindless misappropriation, Igbere TV reports.


The Imo State Governor in his address to Imo stakeholders, alleged that his newly constituted government recently received a N30 billion worth of Garnishee Orders from contractors handling fraudulently awarded contracts by Okorocha’s government.



Lamenting over the unsustainable debt his predecessor’s alleged eight years of misrule plunged the state into, Governor Ihedioha said;



“Our interim findings show a consistent pattern of massive looting and stripping of public assets, dismantling and carting away of public property such as electric poles, vehicles, trucks, office equipment and furniture etc.

“There were last-minute illegal sales of government property at giveaway prices and unlawful allocation of land including backdating of Certificates of Occupancy.

“I must inform you in this regard that, so far we have received over 30 billion Naira worth of Garnishee Orders arising from several ill-conceived and fraudulent contractual agreements deliberately consummated by the past administration, to destroy the future of the State and its teeming population by fettering the State in a humongous debt trap.”

My family voted for him personally to get our two plots taken by Rochas son-in-law when Rochas made him commissioner for land for a year in his 1st term.

The committee for landed property retriever are doing a good job, they've taken our names and want to fight for us in court at once,

one of the committee member told my dad Rochas actually stole more than 3,000 plots of land and people are still coming with their original papers everyday.

I hope you won't cry for Rochas for losing all these lands.

Already APC candidate, Hope Uzodinma has gone to pop champagne with Ihedioha after the election.

Even Oshomole came to Owerri and campaign that he will rescue us from Rochas and get all our landed property including markets back.

But we don't trust Oshomole promise, we prefer Ihedioha, as you can see he's doing what he promised us.

Someone said tribunal will sack my Governor, which tribunal? AA has dropped their case with him. Or are you talking about KOWA party?

This will be his only achievement until the tribunal removes him

Roachas is now a distinguish (whatever that means) Senator. This fight will never end (well).

Rochas looted and raped that state to stupor. When all the ministers are confirmed, the Appeal court will remove him from the Senate and he will have nowhere to run to but to face justice.

He will not escape it.

Ihedioha, please get to work and stop this blame game.....
Most Governor's met this same thing, Just be creative in your own way and manage the little resources you have got, and if you are not ready, resign let someone that can manage the resources take over
