Exodus 20: Honor–summarizing The 10 Commandments by H100: 9:30am On Jul 21, 2019
HONOR is the archetype of all virtue & DISHONOR is the seed of all sin. The 10 Commandments in Exodus 20 could very well be thus summarized:

1. HONOR YAHWEH as THE ONE TRUE GOD

(God is “one” [this “one” in Hebrew is “echad”: compound unity]. Jesus said, “He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.” )

2. HONOR NATURE

(Honor nature for what it is. Behold the glory of creation in awe, but know it’s only creation & we’re creatures: God is the CREATOR. Do not worship creation, worship the Creator.)

3. HONOR THE LORD’S NAME

(No blasphemy/ Don’t invoke God’s name to justify sin. In denying the conviction of the Spirit to repent from sin and follow Jesus, one commits the unforgivable sin. To deem the Holy Spirit as useless, or a rather bad hindrance to the good pleasures of ones life; to go so far as to consider the Holy Spirit evil, and thus deny Him the fruit of His labor to bring you to repentance, is unforgivable. Cursing Gods name and mocking Christ can be forgiven, but outright and resolutely denying Jesus with no change of mind, is unforgivable. There will be no mercy for you here or in the hereafter. You wanted a life minus Him, and He will grant it to you in the perpetual living death of outer darkness: hell, the trash heap of the cosmos; for He is life and everyone who hates Him loves death. You considered the conviction of the Holy Spirit to be trash but will find yourself upon the stinking, smoldering heap yourself.)

4. HONOR THE HOLY SABBATH

(Honor God’s preeminence as Creator by working 6 days: Sunday – Friday, and resting from dusk Friday-dusk Saturday: not economizing, buying and selling, or even lighting fires and cooking out. To eat foods not requiring cooking or to prepare food ahead of Sabbath is ideal, so that the day may be truly saturated in a divine contemplation and the delight in the community of Christ . Detach from the work-a-day world. Fellowship with a group of Godward minded people. Rejoice in truth together. Rejoice in the greater realities beyond this shadowland, which aren’t money, buying and selling, and rushing about.)

5. HONOR PARENTHOOD

(Honor them as conduits of God’s authority in your life and as life-givers; realize, parenthood is not limited to biological relationship. Someone, somewhere, is serving as a parental influence over you. They might not be perfect, but they should be honored. Every president rules over a nation of familes (families are mini-nations within a nation) and broken families. No nation will rise above the quality of it’s citizens. It is fathers and mothers which preside over the future citizens. If the government of homes (the institution of family), presided over by a mother and father by design, are dishonorable, then that nation as a whole will be dishonorable. The destiny of nations rise and fall over whether parents preside over the small countries in their care well. If they diligently teach their children this law of God, and those children honor it, a nation will be great with good citizens, it’s government lean and strong, and God will be glorified.)

6. HONOR THE SANCTITY OF LIFE

(Do not defile the earth with murder; he who is inclined to shed innocent blood must be blotted out, and those that slay him will be innocent of his blood; do not abort baby’s simply so you may go out and enjoy more sex and more party’s.)

7. HONOR MARRIAGE

(No adultery; no sex before marriage; no homosexuality; no bestiality. In God’s eyes marriage only exists between a male and female in covenant to fidelity before Him; therefore, addressing “gay marriage” is pointless, for it does not exist.)

8. HONOR the PROPERTY OF OTHERS.

(Do not steal. This is also to respect a mans honest work, for the fruits of his labor are his possessions.)

Scam!!! Moses the custodian of the 10 commandments broke it while descending from Mount Sinai, he ordered the Israelites to smite the hidden, every man and woman including their children should be killed, where's the love they neighbor as thy self in this? Religion is a huge scam, a Haven of pedophile and 419ers, the opium of the poor who believe they don't need to be great here, that their reward is in a fictional heaven, I challenge any human to prove the existence of any god

Let me say now that I know where you are going with this.

Under the new covenant and dispensation it is honourable and blessed to marry only one wife.

Try implement it under the old and outdated covenant i.e marry multiple partners will bring sorrow .

Cheers

I didn't know people are actually aware of this truth especially the 4th commandment for keeping the Sabbath(Saturday) holy. I just wonder why everyone chose to ignore that commandment and go to church on Sunday and do all sort of unholy stuffs on Saturday against God's commandments. Could it be that the saying in Matthew 7:13-14 (“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it".) is playing out?

Please just for clearer understanding. Marrying more than 1 is In the old testament and not necessary for us now, but paying of tithes is necessary for us now?

It's not a sin to marry more than one wife. The Bible only state that a church elder must be a husband of one wife in 1Timothy 3:2. Aside that, there is no Bible verse that says polygamy is a sin.
Re: Exodus 20: Honor–summarizing The 10 Commandments by Meti99(m): 11:26am On Aug 04, 2019
People that hold polygamists as sinners are the real ignoramus..
The Bible never proof polygamy as sin..
Only bishops (elders) are expected to be monogamous because of their position and responsibilities, yet it is not a sin to them, it will never take them to hell.

If you can manage 2 or more wives, my brother go ahead

Sorry for the long delay.

Tithes is a covenant not an obligation.
Your offering is an obligation .
You enter into the covenant via scarifices and personal relationship with God.

Tithes won't take you to heaven but it can help you in your finances.

Tithes is not dispensation dependent.

Tithes is not limited to money. Time, property, knowledge skills can be tithes.

Thanks

Jesus said love is the greatest of all commandments Matt 22: 36-40.
You're to love God, others and yourself.
Love is central to christian faith and all the commandments: if you love God, you will honour him, obey His commandments, believe Him and every of His word, you wouldn't do evil to your neighbour, ready to forgive and let go, tell them about the love of Christ, be submissive to His wills....etc. etc.
Without love it'll be difficult to do all these. The Op summarized the 10 commandments using the word "Honour", the Lord Jesus categorised all under "Love".

But for increase in population, issues arising from having a big family, polygamy is not a crime. Independent thinking is the way out of mental slavery. Religion makes it look as if we ain't human full of weaknesses and flaws..its a big scam. some of the societies with the highest proportions of non-believers are among the most secure and harmonious on Earth.
people have started constructing faiths of their own Many of us have to be free. No faith has reach a stage of ultimate truth

If you are a Christian, you’d know we are not under the law. We have a new Covenant with God which is Jesus Christ.

Love your God with all thy heart
And Love your neighbour as thy self covers all the 10 commandments.

Christianity knows we are all human... that is why we are saved by His Grace not our works... because we can never be perfect or righteous by our works... as far we have the flesh, we will always act according to it... but Jesus makes things easier for us to be righteous in the eyes of God, easy but hard to see. Don’t believe the preachers that preaches of hell and makes you feel that God doesn’t really love you, just imagine if someone loves you as much as the multitude between heaven and earth, will that person not do anything for you to be saved?... just be kind to your fellow human and believe in Jesus... that’s all... all your imperfections will turn to perfection.

Only one woman (Eve) was created for Adam and only one man (Adam) was created for Eve. I will say God's will is one man one wife.. But you know we human beings, we sometimes go beyond God's plan for us and follow our self will.. To say if it's a sin or not is not mine to judge, let God be the judge.
