THE Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has welcomed the newly sworn in Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, into the group, following a ruling by the Court of Appeal, Ilorin Division at the weekend.

A congratulatory letter to the new governor, issued by the Director General of the NGF, Mr. Asishana Okauru, titled: ‘Congratulatory Message - Nigeria Governors’ Forum Welcomes Dr. Kayode Fayemi’, reads: “We write to congratulate you on your victory at the Court of Appeal Election Tribunal and to welcome you to the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF).


“It must be put on record that you have proved that when there are fundamental disagreements by one party after an election in a democracy, the civilised approach is to exhaust all judicial channels for seeking redress. This is a decision that will certainly enrich the jurisprudence of electoral laws in Nigeria.”

“We wish you a successful tenure as the Executive Governor of Ekiti State and look forward to a continuous fruitful association with your administration.”
